SERIES' SUMMARIES
Sometime in 2004 I began
reviewing selected
series in an episode by
episode way, where I

Aqua Heroes - An Analysis I

More specifically, sisters loving the same man.
Nothing wrong with that but in real life I don't think I will like Busy more than I will like Rain.
Busy knew Edwin was Rain's BF and yet she spent so much time with Edwin making Edwin fell for her. She knew Rain was still the GF. Edwin himself must tell Rain how he really feel about her instead of going behind her back and seeing the sister that way. Busy who loved her sister so much, felt so guilty when she was named the representative of Teen AND leader of the team instead of Rain even begged Rain for forgiveness AND YET she had little remorse with deliberately spending so much time with Edwin knowing he was Rain, her beloved sister's BF. More so when everybody knew how crazy Rain was about Edwin. I am not saying she can't love Edwin but not this open, not so deliberately when knowing the consequences, Rain will turn into an ogre and hate her own sister as well as Edwin. Of course this series will end happily. But in real life, if faced with the same situation, you as Busy what would you do? As Rain what would you do? Don't even bother thinking as Edwin what you would do because I suspect most men will act like Edwin anyway. If me I place more importance in family so as
Busy - I will NOT do what Busy did, I will not be that close to Edwin, I will not at one point say how much I love my sister and at another flirt with her BF, though in a very subdued way eventhough I love this man and this man obviously loves me until and unless I am ready to receive punches from my own sister and my own sister at last give me her blessings. If that meant giving up that perfect guy because I have this selfish sister, so be it because I do not want my family to quarrel, years of sisterhood gone for one man. I may not find another Edwin but I will definitely not have another sister.
Rain - I will definitely hate Busy's hypocrisy but after being very very angry I will come to a realisation that my relationship with Edwin is pointless and he doesn't love me and I might as well move on and give them my blessings. BUT if they got together without my blessings, and Busy ends up coming to me for understanding, frankly I will show her the door. A sister who chooses love over sisterhood is not worth having, likewise you may say a sister who chooses herself over sisterhood (as in own jealous rage over Busy's future) is not worth having either.
My point is never ever fall in love with your sister's BF or ex-BF where they ended on a very bad note. There are always other guys unless you like to share notes on his naked body. On this note I also cannot stand knowing my sisters knows how he looks like naked and he knowing how she looks like when she is naked.
Ok I revise my point. My point is don't get involve with a man/woman who was once involved with a member of a family you care deeply about. Unless of course you care zero for that sister of yours. Busy therefore is a contradiction AND may I say so (I am ready for backlash from romantics, and fans of Busy) a hypocrite.

When has Busy ever conciously flirt with Edwin? I must have miss those scenes since I never saw even once that Busy purposely flirt with Edwin or trying to snatch Edwin from Rain.
Her action is similar to Kei Tak of Burning Flame II. Kei Tak loves Yun Yee and spend a lot of time with her even when she is his brother's girlfriend. But I didn't see u hating Kei Tak or call him a hypocrite. Be more consistant with your hatinglah. Shouldn't have double standard for guys and girls. Busy cares for Edwin, she tries to help him and support him whenever she can and it so happens that they have a more compatible personality, so they spend more time together. Busy does not deliberately spend more time with Edwin so that she can snatch Edwin from Rain. If she wants to snatch Edwin away, there is a simple solution. Just tell Edwin the truth about who rescued him. She didn't even have to do it herself, just let Louis or Stephy or Theresa do the dirty job for her. She has the right to let others know, since it is the truth. But she didn't because she cares about her sister and Edwin. I believe she took care of Edwin and supported him because she has his best interest in mind and not because of some ulterior motive.
You only pity Rain. But didn't u notice that Edwin was more or less guilt-trip into dating Rain? Rain was very very persistant. Edwin dated Rain because he felt Rain has done a lot for him and he should accept her, plus his parents were also persuading him to do so. But even from the beginning, it was one-sided. Edwin never felt as comfortable with Rain as with Busy. He was actually very pressured throughout all the time they are together as a couple. It was a relationship doomed to fail. Blame Edwin for leading Rain on, not Busy for breaking up the relationship (which she did not). He should not have dated Rain in the first place.
Withholding your blessing and keeping your sister feeling guilty all her life (with your ex) even when you know your sister and you ex genuinely loves each other isn't very sisterly either. Especially when you don't even love your as much as your sister does.

Maybe not conciously but definitely subconciously. All in yesterday's episode, can't remember the number.
The thing is I am not saying Busy is bad, a hypocrite doesn't mean she is a bad person, it just means there are two sides to every story. Whilst Rain should be disliked for her temper tantrums, he unfair treatment of Busy some time before, or even bullied her way into Edwin's heart, this situation is very different from Kei Tak Tin's situation. That situation the younger brother knew very well the girl's heart may belong to another but was confused as to her feelings, and seeing his older brother suffer, he held on more to that girl. That's selfish. Kei Tak knew that, because this guy was two timing the girl also. I wouldn't call Kei Tak a hypocrite because the brother was a bigger hypocrite.
Now back to Busy and Rain, Rain didn't know Edwin had feelings for her sister (or maybe I have missed that) and she genuinely cared about Edwin, buying him food, trying to help him. Edwin in fact pushed her away but he didn't dare to do it openly because he was afraid of hurting her feelings, but running after the older sister whilst the younger one is sitting in the office worried about where he is does not make him honourable or even the good guy. In that moment Edwin is a jerk.
As for Busy, caring about someone is ok. Having same interests, personality and all is fine. But how would you feel if your own sister starts buying your BF's favourite drinks, sneak them into the refrigarator, putting his favourite food on the table and hiding, hoping he will enjoy the meal? Of course Busy was noble enough not to hurt her sister by refusing to tell who saved Edwin's life (and I do not see why this point is so important, Edwin's heart didn't go to Busy by knowing she saved him, it was after, with all the times they spent together coupled with the realisation she actually saved him from drowning, a cumulative effect). But thereafter her actions of what she did, all out of the goodness of her heart but really she did it all because she loved him, I didn't see her doing all that to Louis, that all makes her a hyprocrite, whether she realises it or not.
As I have said, a sister who snatches the BF of her sister is no better than the one who refuses to move on and give her blessings. Many sisters will probably take the guy and try to mend their relatinship with their beloved sister later. Many times on TV sisters will forgive sisters because love, you can't force it BUT I do wonder, in real life will sisters be so forgiving?
That is the entire point of my whole comment. I wasn't deliberatly trying to dismiss Busy's good character and symphatise with Rain despite her flaws.
As for Edwin and men like him, there is no such thing as bullied or pushed onto a relationship. He was very nice to her a few episodes before, kissing her I think on the forehead which was beyond just friends of feeling guilty and pushed into loving her. All that changed when he had a change of heart or maybe more accurately realisation of who he actually loved. Then he should have quickly deal with this new twist, which I think he did in the next episode but I think Rain will see or hear him with Busy when I think he was supposed to be doing something else which gives Rain an impression that he left her for Busy which is the truth. I mean there should be a break between breaking up and going into a new relationship with someone, especially that break up is bad and that person is the sister of your ex. And in tonight's episode I think I saw Busy overhearing Edwin denying he was seeing Busy (see! can't decided again!) and said something derogotary about her leg (or maybe did not defend her). Now this is peculiar. Busy by being hurt certainly shows that she is waiting, hoping for Edwin to love her back. Doesn't that make her a hypocrite?
The best example is the Singaporean series The Wings Of Desire. Two half sisters, one man. Again the sister who loved the man is a very good person, kind and all but the way she went about with that man makes me feel sympathy for the other sister who is not a good person at all, but you understand her anger. The ending for that series was not sugar coated, it was dramatic but it was real. I never liked that evil sister whose guy was snatched away but I understand her pain and why she did what she did later on. That to me is the real ending if Rain were to be very unforgiving and Busy very insistent in her feelings for Edwin who is very determined to be with Busy.
I remember telling my sis never ever fall for my ex whom I have broken up very badly with and whom I may still have feelings and I will never ever go for her ex, whatever the circumstances because I do not want to create an ackwardness that will ruin the entire family since I plan to eat at my family's place in future.
So Kidd, you didn't answer the question. Would you?
Ok, my honest reply.
If I am Busy, I would treat Edwin like a normal friend. I would not deliberate get close to him, but I would not deliberately avoid him either.
If I am Rain, I will be angry with Busy for a while. But since she is my sister, I will not be mad with her forever. If she comes to me for understanding after getting together with Edwin without my blessing, I will still give it to her (provided she don't do so immediately when I am still very angry).
My family is important to me. I will not hate my sister forever because of a guy, especially knowing how much my sister love this guy and vice versa.
Tonight Edwin was overboard. The way he screamed at Rain who was trying to be nice. Hate him!
