I welcome submissions of reviews of any series, movies, books or other stuff irrespective of whether it's already found in my website or something new altogether. Just check out SUBMISSION [MAIN] for more info.

YOUR PARTICIPATION

This website, which is an opinion based website is fueled in part by your active participation either by submission of your reviews/stuff or your comments in any post, reviews, section, etc where you can find the POST A COMMENT feature. I welcome your comments and feedback, positive or negative, right or wrong, long or short. All I ask for is for you to write your name (a nickname if you so wish) if you're posting as Other or Anonymous AND to show common courtesy to one another when posting your thoughts. Come & join me in sharing each other's opinion of a certain subject matter. Show yourself & post away!

YOUR Q's FOR MY A's

There is a FAQ [MAIN] database in this website where you will find info on how to link to this website, answers to some tech problems found in pages within this website as well as a great feature where you can post questions in relevant categories & I'll answer them. Try it out!

SELECTED POSTS

This page, NEWS & UPDATES which is actually the index page of this website has grown into a huge database of my almost daily ramblings of all stuff I hold dear to my heart, including gossips of the most sordid kind. For your convenience, I have posted a list of posts which I thought is pretty informative in my own way that you might find interesting. The list itself may be long but those selected few are the ones I thought drives home the point I wanted to make. Do check them out in MY POINT IS [Comments & Opinions].

SERIES' SUMMARIES

Sometime in 2004 I began reviewing selected series in an episode by episode way, where I called these reviews EPISODIC THOUGHTS. These thoughts are mostly summaries of each and every episode with my opinion of that episode included in it as well. I may not provide the most in depth summaries but I am very proud of the fact that I could keep the writing on such a long winded basis each and every night for the entirety of the series. I don't do this for each and every series though because it kills a lot of brain cells, mine as well as fellow netizens who often joined in the discussion by posting informative stuff. These thoughts are still open for feedback and discussion. Do check them all out in REVIEWS where it is indicated with an  [E] next to my name.

OFFBEAT STUFF

There is this one section in here that features offbeat stuff that are not entertainment based. The section is known as FUNN STUFF [COMMENTS & OPINIONS].

PERSONAL FAVOURITES

There are 3 sections in here that contain my personal favourites of all kinds. THE DDGs [COMMENTS & OPINIONS] which features specially made websites by myself with info & all related stuff of my favourite stars or stars I like to talk about, MEDIA & MUSIC FILES [DOWNLOADS] which has my favourite VODs and music files, most of them are taken from Chinese & Korean dramas & movies and some of which I am hosting for my net friends and THE STORYTELLERS [WEBSITES], where you'll find stories written by amateur writers like you and I.

Do check them all out!

Permanent link Post a Comment 8 comments

Very interesting.

Best Looking Faces selected by plastic surgeons in Kangnam

The Best 10 of Handsome men:
1. Jang Dong-Kun
2. Won Bin
3. Brian (Fly to the Sky)
4. Jung Woo-Sung
5. So Ji-Sub
6. Song Seung-Hun
7. Min Kyung-Hoon
8. Hyun Bin
9. Bae Yong-Joon
10. Kang Dong-Won

The plastic surgeons described JDK’s face as a perfectly proportioned face.

I only know no. 1, 2 and 9. I agree with no. 1 though. But I read from the same forum that men in Korea celebrated his successful diet and said he looked hotter (yes, men). I disagree. I want him chubby. Now he looked tired, haggard and half the man he was. Why diet? I want him CHUBBY again! CHUBBY!

The Best 10 of Beautiful women:
1. Kim Hee-Seon
2. Lee Young-Ae
3. Kim Tae-Hee
4. Han Ga-In
5. Lee Na-Young
6. Jeon Ji-Hyun
7. Song Hye-Kyo
8. Koo Hye-Seon
9. Lee Mi-Yeon
10. Lee Eun-Joo

I only know no. 2 and 7. I agree about 7 though but no. 2 not really. Pretty but no. 2? More like popularity contest.

I know, I know, 3 days TOO early but wanna be an early bird.

I know, why 7 times MERDEKA! (as in INDEPENDENCE!) instead of the 3 but correct me if I am wrong, I kinda thought it was shouted 7 times instead of 3 by our first PM, Tunku Abdul Rahman.

Note : 29.08.2005 - I found out it was actually 17 cries of MERDEKA!

Anyway, a flag...

and our first PM shouting MERDEKA!!

We are 48 this year. And not any bit richer. Anyway get ready for Sudirman's song which I will sing every year on that special day (I only know the first half, got the lyrics from other websites)...

What is the normal resolution because I will adjust my website layout to the popular resolution. please reply by Post A Comment. Your feedback is very useful to me.

Dae Jang Geum - Final Episode
Permanent link Post a Comment 0 comments

Finally, after 71 episodes, this series finally ended today. When Madam Jung died, I was sad. When Madam Han died, I was like "ok". When Madam Choi died, I kinda cried because it was so pitiful so you know, like pity her. I was hoping to see what happened to Kam Ying but well no ending for her. But when the Emperor died, I cried buckets. I mean it was so touching and so sad! Anyway 71 episodes, i wonder how am I going to write the review??

Finally!
Permanent link Post a Comment 0 comments

I finally spent the USD50-00 Gift Voucher given by SC (SPCNET) to me like I think 1 year ago? Spent it at Yesasia buying Korean movies and ended up with 3 DVDs. I bought..

Friend (which I wanted to buy)
Lost Memories (which I wanted to buy)
JSA ( to get the free shipping)

And free one DVD with titles I have never heard so I chose Last Present starring Lee Young Ae.

All in all spent extra USD 10-00, so the whole thing is USD60-00, less USD3-00.

Now I have a few worries.

1. Credit card verification (will M'sia be blacklisted)?
2. All DVDs are for DVD region 3 which says South East Asia. Malaysia is in South East Asia so I pray my DVD can play those DVDs
3. Hopefully all English subtitles are ok, but then I am so immune after All About Eve (which by the way, the BM subtitles is better since no grammar)
4. Will my country confiscate my stuff?? I mean Friend isn't exactly Finding Nemo.

Ahhhh so worry. But if I get them all, can watch all I feel they're money well spent. How long does Yesasia takes to verfiy my card I wonder? Will it be like registerfly.com where I had to shoot out one angry letter because Malaysia got blacklisted?

Aiyah my credit card bill is also too high! So very poor. Must save money but can't because

1. bought All About Eve DVD (bye bye RM138-00)
2. bought Medical Brothers VCD (bye bye RM79-90)
3. bought new computer (bye bye RM3098-00 : supposedly a very good computer and maybe money well spent since I do not intend to change computer for another 5 years or so)
4. savings all time low, because of RM50-00 for dental visit (that sum is murderous man! RM50-00 for ONE filling!)
5. Friend's birthday coming and she wants Japanese buffet and you all know how expensive Japanese buffet is..

Poor, very poor. I pray I have the strength to save more money this month but aiyah..one credit card already so much money spent...

Lecehlah!

Some people cannot make up their minds..

Re my previous post and now this! Good thing though, I don't need to change anything. I mean pronouncing Kun and Gun is the same what and does it make a difference to international market? They'll pronounce it anyway they want. Until now I still do not know how to pronounce the Gun or Kun part.

Anyway, really stupid news if you ask me. Why on earth anyone wants to open a big budget movie same time with another, both banking on the SAME star and now forcing the SAME star to promote one movie and neglect another? Even LOTR will try to avoid Harry Potter and both has huge followings! I hope the company releasing the movies will come to their sense and release perhaps The Promise first and then Typhoon. Because let's face it, Chinese fantasy movie has a bigger market, so that will set the pace and when Typhoon opens, everybody will flock to see that movie because probably of interest in Jang Dong Gun. Me no difference. I 'll watch one movie on Saturday, the other on Sunday.

Stupid PR move.

This banner could not have been more appropriate.

As for Charmaine Sheh, oh my God! The way she screamed! Oh my God. Surprisingly I can tahan Sonija Kwok, the souless automaton but still I can tahan her.

Anyway tell me, tell me please!

Chae Rim
Permanent link Post a Comment 0 comments

I was just watching the 1st episode of my newly bought All About Eve in Korean and when she appeared, her voice totally freaked me out. It's a nice voice, but maybe I just got used to the Mandarin version where the voice is very girlish, very "manja" and very young. Somehow her real voice doesn't suit her, too deep, too adult and really totally freaked me out. In fact most of the voices freaked me out, except that I realise the Mandarin version is very well dubbed. The girl who played Ying Mei, her voice is more angelic than I thought, in fact doesn't suit her evil mean stares. I wish both these actressess' voices change with one another; that would be better.

Freakly though that I kinda predicted her voice will be deeper in real life and indeed, very very deeper. I really must give credit to the person who dubbed Chae Rim. She actually gave the character more life, more energy of the girlish kind and I am kinda disappointed with her performance in this sense. If I have seen this and then write my review, I would not have said her performance was great which I think I didn't anyway. Her voice seems just flat at most time.

And again, I am most annoyed when I see her crossing her legs.

If you say so...

Specifically the wedding of my favourite "Han Tai Jun" (Kim Seung Woo) and his beautiful Ada Choi lookalike bride (Kim Nam-ju). A very long one and don't know what they're seeing but looks like loads of fun, tears and lots of stars and overeager cameraman. Thought you might like to download the file which is about 20.7MB

All About Eve DVD Box Set
Permanent link Post a Comment 2 comments

The 3 languages in one box set by Mpeg. I got it today, ordered online from coolwin-video.com. First of all, I was so dumb! Of all the places I checked I did not check Mega Mall Jusco video shop as they're selling the one and only VCD box set for RM99-00 plus 20% off as well so that makes it RM70-00 plus! Never mind since I already ordered the DVD version which was RM138-20 (plus RM5-00 for courier by Pos Laju). The discount was only 10% and frankly Sensasian.com is cheaper in this aspect but taking into account courier service (if by registered mail it's free) which is a flat RM5-00, I must say, coolwin-video.com is a better deal. Anyway, got the pink package. Slightly smaller than the VCD box set but like Sehseh said, it's cheapo looking. Inside even mroe cheapo because the discs are all stacked on top of one another, 5 discs in one side of the plastic case and another 5 in the other. Outside the awful pink colour box it says "Free Postcards whilst stock last" and well got two postcards, one Chae Rim and the other Jang Dong Gun but both as cheapo looking. The discs are suprisingly not so cheapo looking but some pics I suspect Mpeg took from Model, especially Han Jae Suk's pics since I can't remember him wearing specs in this series. ANYWAY, I was worried there might be scratches, tested some and well so far so good. Haven't watched all yet but from what i could observe...

1. The picture quality is surprisingly clear and better than the VCD I watched;
2. indeed you can choose between 3 languages (Malay, Chinese, English). The Malay one is like literal translation but not THAT bad. The English one is surprisingly better BUT the way it is translated like basic English but not THAT bad. I was ready for Model like quality but surprise surprise, not THAT bad if you're not picky. I mean I myself can do better.
3. Can choose between Korean or Mandarin which is great when you get fed up with the bad translation.
4. Now that scene selection is a hoax. What scene selection? Each DVD comes with 2 episodes (hence 10 discs) and the scene selection is between ep 1 and ep 2. I feel kinda cheated by this one.
5. Audio I think is ok but haven't heard all yet.

So really, it's not that a bad purchase. I like the on off features for the subtitles and a nice touch is the font is BIG and in white so you can read it clear which may be bad since you kinda see how bad it could be which really isn't. Only if Mpeg had paid more attention in packaging and the translation, this would be a very excellent purchase.

But I haven't tested all discs yet.

BUT I must say something about Coolwin-Video.com. I ordered the box set on Wednesday night, I paid by Maybank transfer on Thursday afternoon. I faxed the receipt to them via fax with a note that they must email or fax me confirmation of receiving my fax. They did, by email that very afternoon. Then it will take 2 days or so to get the tape by courier which may take 1 to 2 days.I figured I should get it by this week. I checked the website and until yesterday night, it was still "processing". And surprise surprise, I got the package today when I came home from work! So they must have sent it yesterday! And the package was tightly packaged under layers of those pop up plastic thingy which was great. I mean the person who sent this could give so much attention to packaging, why can't Mpeg show more care for their products?

And on all times whenever I write an email, they will reply in 1 min tops. When I couldn't fax, I called and it was promptly answered. I was very amazed by their level of efficiency and I must say shopping at coolwin-video.com is quite a good experience. A pity I can't find Chingu there if not I would have bought it as well.

Anyway, not a bad purchase but you never know when it comes to return of merchandise and refunding so I will cross my fingers.

Of sort.

I have readded the The DDGs list under Opinion and I am going to merge Shaunsation into this page, so basically no more Shaunsation but the contents will still be the same. So far I am experimenting with the layout which I am not too happy abt, except for the picture under Profile. I have added Jang Dong Gun page, to see if it looks ok and well it doesn't look ok and I am still wondering why. Even the Your Views page doesn't look right. I am fixing it and then I'll readd Shaunsation which I repeat no longer exists. Just a name what!

Very funny ad
Permanent link Post a Comment 0 comments

Did anyone see that Wushu Championship ad on TV? It was very funny.

There are 2 wushu masters, one younger and the other with his back facing the younger one is the older master, much older. A fly was flying around the younger one and the younger one said that "Your skills are no match for me" and he proceeded to fling around his sword and the fly was cut into half. Then another fly is flying around the older master and then he proceeded to fling his sword around and then he stopped. But the fly is still flying around and the younger man laughed and said "Ha ha ha! The fly is still flying!" and the old master cooly said .."True but the fly won't be able to have children anymore". The younger master dropped his sword in disbelief.

It was so funny in Cantonese. Do catch it!

What does it mean?
Permanent link Post a Comment 0 comments

Does anyone know where I can find the translation for the lyrics to Jewel In The Palace themesong? I am very curious...

Anyway the more I hear the Korean language, the more I can recognise the mish mash of Hokkien, Mandarin and Cantonese. Mostly Hokkiena nd Cantonese, especially the way they say numbers like one two three. Like Hindi has mish mash of the Malay language (or rather Malay language follows Hindi) so I am very excited. I find the Korean language, when said in the right way as in the quiet way can be very melodious to the ears BUT all sounds the same except for a few words. Their vocabulary must be limited but yet if I could believe some translation, the way they say yes, I understand could be quite different.

Eh new reviews anyone? Rather free as my computer is in the workshop and I am using the back up computer so really I am free so really reviews?

By the way I am at ep 10 of Models and already I feel like chucking the VCDs out of the window but I can't because it's not mine.

My quest for All About Eve VCD (2)
Permanent link Post a Comment 5 comments

So many recommendation. I checked out dvdasian.com and well, they don't ship to Malaysia. Not even Singapore. Just Hong Kong.

Checked out yesasia.com again and again I saw the version I wanted, THIS ONE and no, they refuse to ship it to Malaysia, not even Singapore. I am about to vomit blood because I am willing to fork out RM300-00 and yet I can't buy it!

Checked out Coolwin-video which is the cheapest for the DVD version but I look at the cover also I feel no appetite. So I thought, ok I can just throw the box away and buy a nice CD holder. Then I went to Hotelier forum which discussed about the Hotelier eng subtitles which is distributed by the same MPEG company and oh my, horror! Horror! The last thing I want is to be turned off by the subtitles. I got that from Models and thank God I borrowed that one, didn't buy it! The upside is there is always the Mandarin version, so I can swicth back since the subtitles is selectable BUT what's the point?!

WHY? WHYYYYY? WHYYYYYYYY?! EVEN WHEN BUYING DVDS MALAYSIA HAS TO TAKE SECOND RATE..NO! THIRD RATE! WHYYYYY? I have no friends in the US who can buy this version for me, no friends I can trust by paying so much money without them keeping the whole thing for themselves. And guess what? Yesasia has promotion right now, can buy OST very cheap if buy such DVDs and yet I can't BUY them!

WHY? WHYYYY?

Please give me some comfort dear friends.

Anyone who has bought the DVD version (that cheapo looking one by MPEG), please tell me, at least the Malay subtitles are like TV2 or NTV7 standard. Please tell me that...

The Many Profiles Of Jang Dong Gun
Permanent link Post a Comment 10 comments

These can be depressing pictures and yet interesting pictures, depending on how you see it. Look at the progression and I kinda realise even since he was a baby, he looks great. Second pic I assume is his teenaged years, looking rather like in some army camp but the nose is there, the eyes is there. And as an adult, a bit pale and face more rounded and yet same eyes, and I guess same lips and nose.

Just in case you wonder where he got his good looks from, look no further.

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

And a more nicer pictures with the make up, which enhances his good looks.

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usFree Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

That guy next to him is Won Bin, as if you don't know!

Even without make up, his handsomness is there already, the features I mean. I mean these are not his nicest pics but the feature is there. He does have a tendency of looking pale and I guess this must have something to do with the fact that he is a chain smoker.

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

He's a bit older now but really this man just looks better as he grows older because he shed the pretty boy look so evident in Models. No more pretty boy, now he's like gorgeous man (on the condition he gains some weight).

His best of course is the side profile or halfway to side profile.

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usFree Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usFree Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

Contrary to popular belief, I don't think he is fat or chubby at all.He has naturally full face. Of course now he looks dreadful. He looks awful. He looks...anyway he is a consummate actor. I admire and respect his respect for his art so I'll just bear with this since an actor must change his looks to suit a character. But he still looks dreadful. And he looks like a pirate!

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

But like a true professional, I am sure he will gain some weight. Hopefully a lot of weight.

Believe me, I would bet he looks better in person and on screen than in pictures. These pictures do no justice to him. He is not exactly photogenic which is strange.

Anyway all these pictures proves one point. It will be humanity's greatest sin that he does not pass on his genes. Hopefully to a woman equally as beautiful of course. Then perhaps his son or daughter may look even more beautiful.

He is 180cm, looks very tall when standing alone because he has long legs but surprisingly in some series standing next to someone taller, he looks rather short. But is he like 180cm or 5 feet 11 inches as credited? Because he doesn't look THAT tall. I guess maybe 5 feet 8 inches or 9 inches unless anyone seen him in person can confirm. Or maybe some adjustment of camerawork when standing next to shorter actresses or maybe all male actors in South Korea is over 6 feet?

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

Anyway one last picture which I find very interesting. Taken in some major wedding. Look who's behind him? Even at weddings this man (that one behind him) still looks like a mega star with the mega watt smile! This man knows how to dress and that is my only complaint to Mr Jang; his fashion sense is really non existent sometimes. Wonder who's that guy next to him?

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

But I do notice he has been wearing the same gold necklace with golden round pendant and the same beads in many pictures, you'll see these two items in All About Eve also. Probably religious faith that is Buddhism I guess.

A gold mine of pics here at this Chinese site aptly called adonischinese.com

Wonder when he will have an official English fansite?

Check out the growing list of media files for your downloading pleasure in Downloads > Media > Series/Movies. I just added I think 9 songs for All About Eve and some amazing links for you to download the rest of the OST.

I'll be adding some more for Jewel In The Palace as I just downloaded some amazing instrumental music. I must say the OST is really wierd, i thought I heard English songs! Maybe i don't know and that remix techno version of the themesong, Oh Na Ra is really very scary, reminded me of Children of the Corn or something. But still it's free and it's a great song. i like it the traditional way. If you know where I can find the mandarin version, I would appreciate it if you can tell me so that i can complete the collection.

I'll also be adding some amazing mandarin version clips of All About Eve for those who has yet to watch this series. I hope to get my hands on the Korean version so that i can post the same clips as well.

For fans of All About Eve, i am sure you're aware of aaeclub.com (why you all never told me?!) and there are missing clips in that website. Amazing stuff and

Klang port is listed as very dangerous ie critical and KL is dangerous meaning we are being choked to death!! Indonesia, what are you doing???

I can't breath, can't see, can't think! Everything is orange, blur, dusty!

What is going on? Are we going to be done in by all this flying particles? My throat hurts!

And worse still, people are still puffing away! I mean isn't all these dusts enough for your lungs?

Help! HELP! HELPPP!!!!

Added 2 new reviews written by me.

All About Eve [Korea]
Hard Fate [TVB]

I must put a footnote about my review of All About Eve. It is VERY long and I enjoyed writing it so much I just didn't have the heart to end it so it is VERY long. Sunglasses is a must accessory when reading this review. And some suspension of disbelief of the fact that there is bound to be some mistakes as to names, etc. My Mandarin not so good and I may have heard wrongly though that arrogant me says "highly unlikely" but the modest me says "but still a possiblity".

And I have yet to finish with the screencaps and the clips for this series so whatever I wrote at the bottom of the review, they're not ready yet. Will be ready by this weekend, at least some clips for your downloading pleasure.

I have 2 more reviews to add written by Bridget Au. Quite new ones actually.

Any new reviews? I welcome your submissions!

Further I can't go on with Angels of Mission. I can't stand this series and I have stopped the Episodic Thoughts before I jump off my room on the first floor because this series is really very very bad. I am still watching it though, but not enough to write a summary of it episode per episode. Shirley Yeung is truly a very horrible actress.

Still hazy hazy midnight.

Hazy hazy days...
Permanent link Post a Comment 2 comments

Haze everywhere at KL! My own house outside looked like some European country with heavy mist when it is actually bad bad haze. Schools will be closed for 2 days, that is how bad things are and yet we the working class still has to work...sigh....Anyway things are so bad I can hardly see the road. It doesn't help since I need to use glasses as well and I thought my hazy eyesight was just me without glasses but guess what? Even with glasses it is still so hazy! This has got to be worse this time! Singapore apparently has no problem! Indonesia still burning burning burning!

Hazy..can't see clearly, can't think clearly!

Article about Jang Donggun by a fan
Permanent link Post a Comment 5 comments

A very long one indeed, written way back in 2002 and updated in 2005, it analyses Jang Donggun on every level of description and I mean every level. i agree with most of them but I must add weary is the looks to describe him these days. Lost a lot of weight, looks much older and much much tired, his new look kinda shocked me. I mean this man has naturally beautiful BUT chubby face and to see him looking for drawn out like exhausted is kinda painful considering he looked like a billion dollars in All About Eve. But saw him in an Ad about Korea, he looked quite young. Maybe it's the hairstyle.

But still good article to read about this man and I remember reading somewhere he is a man who can sit down for hours next to his friend saying absolutely nothing. You know he does look like the silent type.

Have a read...

HERE! THE LINK HERE!

Any fans of his here? I rarely follow Korean series or Korean actors' news, not even Bae Yong Jun but I think from now on I will follow this man's news. Am curious on his way of conquering the world cinema slowly.

I wonder when did Korean dramas got so famous? He was credited as the pioneer in having fans outside of Korea. I believe I have heard of All About Eve many years before, the very early type of Korean series which garnered interests in Malaysia. I wonder was this the starting point?

Oh God! I have been infected by the K-drama virus! But nope, I didn't enjoy Full House. Not my type of series...

I get it! I finally get what's the fuss all about. I haven't watched Winter Sonata and I doubt I will like the love till you die concept. But I am sure I will shed a tear. When I watched All About Eve and Yiu Zhen died so dramatically, and it was 3am in the morning I kinda screamed NO! when his mom cried I was like so sad. I became very attached with the characters, rooting for them. I dislike the fact that Yiu Zhen is so useless but I must admit his faith and love in Ying Mei. And although I feel Ying Mei brought about the problems and she caused his death, her ending is however a very encouraging one. She lost her memories but she remembered the feelings of love for a man she couldn't remember. Shan Mei was very kind to lie to her about her kindness and I thought Ying Mei looked very pretty at the end without the hatred and the make ups. And that ending kiss shared by Shang Zher (or Xiang because my mandarin not very good) and Shan Mei was so touching so lovely. I am going to write a review on this one and expect nothing but glowing remarks. Get ready with your "sunglasses". I must say I love this series, the good parts, the bad parts, the draggy parts, the crying parts, everything because everybody performed very well, even the silly characters and the story though seen it before was still fresh and very engaging. The characters just draw you into the story and I kept on watching, staring at the screen and taking in every scene mostly because of Jang Donggun's character. I realise with a painful realisation this man only exists in a TV series but I take comfort that his character was so memorable I am likely never to forget about him. And Jang Donggun played this character to perfection. I list this character as my all time fave guy (in the gentleman category) apart from Richard Yu and Ben from Survivors' Law. But he wins hands down simply because not really he is richer but he has more character, more stand on certain issues and he is single minded and yet not an arrogant twit but never someone you can push over. How can anyone not fall for this guy??

Anyway I am hunting the Malay subtitles for this series and I envy the Americans for being able to buy the English subtitled one (DVD-Yesasia is selling them in very nice box sets and rumoured to have excellent translation) so I have no choice but to find the BM ones because I want to hear the voices of the actors. I may be shocked to know how they sound in real life.

Anyway did anyone see those ads for tourism in Korea during Jewel In The Palace on ASTRO? Ahhhh Jang Donggun, so handsome.Who's that girl next to him who said "welcome to Korea"? And who's that 2nd guy next to I think same girl in another ad??

And talking abt Jewel In The Palace, I am frustrated by the fact that our heroine is still so dumb. She has a new set of enemies and it still shocks her that someone wanted her to disappear. Can't she be street smart for once???

But damn this series! It is so bloody engaging, I am so engrossed in the story!

And damn All About Eve! I am suffering from serious withdrawal symptoms now, serious ones!

Before my review is out, I beg those who has yet to see All About Eve to buy the box set. The mandarin version is dubbed very very well but I find it hard to follow because my mandarin is not so good which was why I mistook "senior" as "headmaster"! But still worth to watch. Find the subtitled ones, especially those lucky devils in Central America, Canada and America itself. You will never regret it. Men will be charmed by Shan Mei's smile, everybody will be amazed by Yiu Zhen's steadfast loyalty to Ying Mei, intrigued by Ying Mei's scheming personality and most important of all, women will fall in love with Shang Zher and Jang Donggun where both characters became just one if you know what I mean. This series may be 5 years old or so but still worth every penny you will spend on it.

Every Korean series seem to have at least one memorable character. I found Han Taijun in Hotelier (and I quite like Frank Shin actually), Ying Xiang Zher in All About Eve and Min Jun Ho in Jewel In The Palace. And I just realise only in Korean TV series did I find memorable male characters of the good kind.

For now All About Eve is my favourite and one of the best there is. It has bad draggy parts but compared to TVB series, I must admit I was wrong to think a singular themed series could be boring. Maybe these series I named aren't like Winter Sonata which I may hate, but they're not as varied as TVB series. I may write a short comparison between TVB series and Korean series for the similarities and the differences.

ANYWAY WATCH THEM ALL! And buy All About Eve before it runs out of stock and you have to wait and wait and wait.

Oh how I hate the Americans now!

I finally get it!

All About Eve & Yummy Yummy

ALL ABOUT EVE
I am like 70% into this series and I HATE this Ying Mei! Shan Mei I quite like but I am getting tired of her always getting upped by Ying Mei. I don't like the camera man because so wimpy, I can't remember his name offhand but he does have this "I will love till I die" look. Ying Xiang Zher or whatever Zher (that Jang Donggun character), whose name I am still not familiar with and I still don't understand why Shan Mei calls him Shiao Jang (Headmaster?) is like my dream man. I am totally in love with him. So handsome, so good looking, so gorgeous and man, this man can really act. I love those subtle acting and can sing and play the piano too! It took a Korean series (Hotelier included) to show to us woman what a gentleman should be and how a gentleman should act or react and yet this is from a country popular with the notion of MCPs! I am totally confused but I must say this;

Between Frank Shen Dongxian (Hotelier by Bae Yongjun) and this handsome man, I prefer this handsome man. Both have their qualitied but this man totally charmed me when he basically brushed his father away and much later ran to Shan Mei's rescue. Ohhhh I love him. I saw Jang Donggun in 2009 : Lost Memories and I already loved him, but this one...I am so involved with this series, 5 years too late!

I told my friend I AM going to watch Winter Sonata and All About Eve since I may the only one who has yet to watch any of these. I am watching All About Eve first. I tell you; with Korean series like All About Eve and Jewel In The Palace, never ever watch the first and then 2nd and then 3 rd episode, because by then you're hooked big time! There is always a reason to continue watching and All About Eve is all about Jang Donggun and the rivalry between the women that got me going.

What a great series, at this point!

Ahhhh Jang Donggun, sooooooooon handsome. Saw a baby picture of his and his parents' as well and I think he took after his even more handsome father. I take back my word abt him being chubby. That's just too cute! I shall refer to him as leng chai from now on! Leng chai! He still looks pretty much the same now, thinner in fact but ugly hair! The way he smoked in this series though...scary...

YUMMY YUMMY
Anyway glad to know Kidd proclaims Shaun (not Shuen, Shuan, Shoon, whatever--I am getting annoyed! SHAUN CHEN!!), the you know who as a hottie although she doesn't think his acting as great. Aiyah, only 1st episode what! Give yourself time. He of course played one of my all time favourite gentleman, Richard Yu in Holland V.

You know the Best Guy of 2004 I did? I think I must do Best Gentleman of 2004-2005. I will be hard pressed not to include All About Eve's male lead and many others!

I have a feeling Sehseh and many are trying to tempt me to rent Yummy Yummy! So many promises of screencaps and all! Top that with a clip and I might run out NOW and rent it! My finger very itchy lar! Aiyahhh...I realise why TVB website no intros of Shaun or even Ericia but only on those few. If I am not mistaken those listed are MediaCorp artistes and Shaun well..ain't one. Tell me, how was his acting?

Anyway bad news though. Until now I have yet to download that K-100 Yummy Yummy clip! Anyone uploaded it to sendit.com? I may be able to download like this them!

Help!!!!

I have decided NOT to open a TVB account AND NOT to rent Yummy Yummy. I can wait 1 year thanks to the official site of this series. Unless I have a very good reason.

I am really really disappointed.

I am watching All About Eve right now and I must say, Jang Donggun (don't know how to spell but something like this) looks utterly horrible earlier in the series with his I don't know uncle type of colour for his hairstyle but when he started working at his father's company, aiyahhhh so handsome. So very very handsome.

Anyway good news.

I will be doing episodic thoughts for Angels of Mission starting tomorrow. It will be a daily update, one episode per day, which will include hopefully indepth summary plus on the spot review, like my diary about this series as it is being broadcast by ASTRO Wah Lai Toi 8.30pm I think, haven't checked my schedule yet. THere will be major spoilers and I can assure you, biting angry criticisms so if you can't take it, don't read it. A review will follow shortly after the series ended, about 4 weeks later I think since it is 20 episodes.

There will be some days where I will miss probably half of it so my episodic thoughts will not be as well informed as I want it to be. But if you've read Triumph In The Skies, PITNOL, Survivor's Law, you know the trend. I can't promise a fair review of each episode as it is as I go along. But what you will find at the end of the 4 weeks will probably be like the most entertaining and informative episode summaries disguised as a review of sorts. If you see a missing epsiode, it means I did not catch that episode. No point in me writing my thoughts.

Your active feedback and participation, good r back, agree or disagree will be most welcomed. I expect discussions because I am sure you will definitely feel differently from me. I will announce onset that I dislike most of the cast of this series. Hopefully I will change my mind tomorrow.
