SELECTED POSTS

This page, NEWS & UPDATES which is actually the index page of this website has grown into a huge database of my almost daily ramblings of all stuff I hold dear to my heart, including gossips of the most sordid kind. For your convenience, I have posted a list of posts which I thought is pretty informative in my own way that you might find interesting. The list itself may be long but those selected few are the ones I thought drives home the point I wanted to make. Do check them out in MY POINT IS [Comments & Opinions].

SERIES' SUMMARIES

Sometime in 2004 I began reviewing selected series in an episode by episode way, where I called these reviews EPISODIC THOUGHTS. These thoughts are mostly summaries of each and every episode with my opinion of that episode included in it as well. I may not provide the most in depth summaries but I am very proud of the fact that I could keep the writing on such a long winded basis each and every night for the entirety of the series. I don't do this for each and every series though because it kills a lot of brain cells, mine as well as fellow netizens who often joined in the discussion by posting informative stuff. These thoughts are still open for feedback and discussion. Do check them all out in REVIEWS where it is indicated with an  [E] next to my name.

OFFBEAT STUFF

There is this one section in here that features offbeat stuff that are not entertainment based. The section is known as FUNN STUFF [COMMENTS & OPINIONS].

PERSONAL FAVOURITES

There are 3 sections in here that contain my personal favourites of all kinds. THE DDGs [COMMENTS & OPINIONS] which features specially made websites by myself with info & all related stuff of my favourite stars or stars I like to talk about, MEDIA & MUSIC FILES [DOWNLOADS] which has my favourite VODs and music files, most of them are taken from Chinese & Korean dramas & movies and some of which I am hosting for my net friends and THE STORYTELLERS [WEBSITES], where you'll find stories written by amateur writers like you and I.

Do check them all out!

Howl's Moving Castle
Permanent link Post a Comment 1 comments

Thanks to our well...no need to say, I got the version with every type of dubbing in it. All languages. So I chose to watch it in English because I knew Howl is voiced by Christian Bale. If I didn't know this, I wouldn't have recognised his very soothing and rather Batman-like voice. Again neutral accent from what I could detect. Truth be told Howl spoke very little but I think Christian Bale gave it a good dubbing. BUT I was very mesmerized with the original voice, Takayu Kimura and I hope to watch it again tomorrow in Japanese. Pearl is right about one thing; the dubbing is superb. No glitches that one could detect in Princess Mononoke where everybody was rushing their sentences. But I liked the old Sophie's voice rather than the young one. One voice I couldn't detect was Calcifer the fire. I was thinking Kevin Spacey then I decided on Nathan Lane. But Nathan Lane had a high pitch voice and only after I checked with IMDB.com I found out it was Billy Crystal! I couldn't even detect Lauren Bacall's voice or Blythe Danner's voice! But all very nice.

Anyway the story may have itse glitches. For a while I was thinking the story was going nowhere. Personally, Spirited Away was better and I loved the Cantonese dubbing. I never quite like the Japanese dub. And Princess Mononoke's story had more purpose than this Howl but I really like the moving castle and that little boy's voice. I wonder who voiced him.

I was wondering though anyone seen this animation? Becaue I am very very confused over the ending.

Did Sophie turn back to being young again or no one could break that curse and Howl fell and lived happily every after with the old 90 year old Sophie? Because the ending's Sophie looked young but with white hair. So I am very very confused.

Anyway I thought when she was old she had more personality than when she was young!

Recommended : FEARLESS

If there is one movie you must watch this CNY, go for Fearless. When Jet Li really do kung fu stuff, he is like poetry in motion. Will write an opinion for this movie later. Really please go watch it. Mesmerizing!

Shopping time (again!)
Permanent link Post a Comment 3 comments

Went to yesasia.com and looked through the catalog and booked to buy the following-

1. American Psycho (Uncut Version)
2. Equilibrium
3. Chopper
4. The Machinist (Korean version)
5. Howl's Moving Castle (Jap/Cantonese version)
6. Old Boy (HK Version)

All DVDs, all region 3. I wanted to buy at amazon.com but was a bit worried about the shipping fees AND the region 1 DVDs. Wanted to get Newsies you know.

Anyway all amounting to (after deducting my Yesasia credit points which isn't much) = USD 82.71 which is about RM311.40.

All my ang pow money down the drain. I was tempted to drop Howl's Moving Castle since the Eng version is not out yet BUT after Spirited Away where I thought the Cantonese dub was fantastic (and HK has always been great at dubbing Japanese cartoons, better than Westerners), I thought better get this one. I checked out Sensasian.com, which is considerably cheaper but after plus the shipping fee, could end up more. Right now this one is free shipping.

BUT I am opting to pay by Cheque because

1. don't wanna use my credit card anymore, I am in fact taking a personal loan to pay off my credit card debt, a resolution I made earlier

2. my other unused credit card, Direct Access does not allow for online shopping and that to me is a useless card since I wanted this card for online payment

3. Because of no. 2, even with Paypal now available for Malaysians, no point

4. with cheques, I can still not buy these items

Again the dangers of being confiscated by our local officers since frankly you read the list above, only 2 movies are not violent type. The rest are excessively violent I suppose. But I hope they won't check.

Now I am thinking should I buy or not? Got 1 week to think because whole of 1 week no banking can be done as closed for celebrations.

Oh by the way I thought the government won't really implement the RM100-00 on the spot fine for firing away firecrackers. Tonight I saw, actually saw a helicopter with search lights in my area!!!!!!

Now is almost 4am. No sound of firecrackers. But my family said wait till the 8th day where the law abiding citizens become lawless since that's the day everybody will fire away. Let us just see... Anyway it's just RM100-00 fine only. If the God of Fortune smiles on you, what is RM100 eh? In fact take another RM100-00 and I'll fire another firecracker. Don't tell me the officers will throw water at the firing crackers (believe me, a riot will break out) or jail the entire family.

I mean this is so much ado about nothing. As long as people are educated not to make own crackers, I feel why not? Why ban it? Why not have this SIRIM approved firecrackers? That's the point of Chinese New Year anyway. Noises, to usher in the new year.

Watched the TVB celebrations and am reminded AGAIN that dragon will suffer this year. Indeed! Now I am worried for my purchased items. Also watched the CCTV show and the best of the best was the segment where children as young as 4 dressing as dogs danced with old ladies as old as 74 dressed in bright green dancing as a chicken. The old ladies had to be the most nimble ladies I have ever seen. No arthrities at all! Did you see that on ASTRO? I was like so amazed by the dancing. Another one was this very pretty young woman, looking exactly like a doll with very yoga like body dancing away with a bunch of other girls who was doing some dancing by their backs facing the crowd, like back dancing. That girl mesmerized me with her beauty. She was so beautiful! I kinda pity the Chinese women there. Look at the men and I rest my case. Then the best song segment was where 3 Mongolians sang what was really the most sheep herding-ish song I have ever heard, like effortless, like such a simple worry free lifestyle.

Jordan Chan was there but obviously outclassed by the kids and old ladies. Oh how the old ladies could dance. Amazing!

Anyway watching Fearless tomorrow.

Awoooo! Woofwoof! Woof! Woooof!
Permanent link Post a Comment 0 comments

Yup! Yup! Yup! Happy Chinese New Year! Woof! Woof! year coming. With dread but optimistic that with much laying low, I will survive the claws, the bites and the bark!

Now friends in Malaysia. You know the drill.

Chinese New Year, therefore new rules. If you're caught with lighting and even with the remnants of firecrackers in your house or compound, our officers are given the right to give you a ticket ON THE SPOT. Let's pray for windless CNY eh...

So to put a damper to real celebrations and God Of Fortune will be wondering why no sounds to usher him to your house, you can't play play firecrackers, expensive special effect-ish fireworks. In other words you can't recreate the KLCC New Year's Eve event at your house or anywhere near. Bummer isn't it?

Why ban firecrackers? Because some idiots blown off their own fingers, eyes, etc by creating their own fireworks. OWN FIREWORKS. Never during Chinese New Year though. We buy Made In China stuff. Who makes such home made fireworks? Try another big time festival in Malaysia. What should be banned is not firecrackers but stupid people handling firecrackers. I say BRING BACK FIRECRACKERS! We need them to welcome God of Fortune. I also miss the 3am firecrackers non stop medley!

Well bummer still. Alternatively try just using the sound effect I guess. But be careful, officers are ready to give you the dreaded ticket.

By the way I read the most amusing statistics I think in Star Newspaper yesterday. Our Ministry of Transport printed a one whole page of road safety message and some past statistics of I think for example 10 deaths per day or something like that. Then he wrote the goverment is adopting measures to attain a goal of for example 5 deaths per day due to accident. So I wonder, once the goal is attained? We celebrate that only FIVE died instead of TEN? You get what is so amusing about this message? Shouldn't it be ZERO deaths no matter what?

Very strange.

Anyway Awoooo! Woofwoof! Woof! Woooof! everyone and that is Dog Talk for Happy Chinese New Year everyone. Scary to know so many net friends are born in the year of the dog but we all get along just fine. But just in case, I am sharpening my claws and practising my fire breath. I am sure that can beat a dog bark.

Grrrrrr woof!
(Translation : Funn out!)

Fan made tributes - Christian Bale
Permanent link Post a Comment 4 comments

I have downloaded tons of Jang Dong Gun MV made by fans as a tribute and I was amazed by it all. But only today did I realise how much slicing and piecing together irrelevant scenes accompanied by a really good song can really make a fan made MV work. You must drop by Avenuepotter.com and download any of the MV made by this dedicated and very talented fan of Christian Bale. She pieced together many of his movies, some were manic types of characters and transform it all into one piece of coherent story. My personal favourite is the Bond MV, where amazingly the maker successfully convinced me that Christian Bale should be James Bond. Amazing artwork, music and selected scenes all in crystal clear quality that I wish I could burn it and watch it with my big screen TV. Even non fans will appreciate the artwork involved. As for fans of Christian Bale, you might like to consider the MV entitled I'm Too Sexy. And indeed, she pieced together various unconnected scenes and clearly convinced me HE IS SEXY. Ermmm..make sure you don't let your parents catch you watching it!

Just finished downloading most of the MVs. Another highly recommended one is Closer, and I kinda feel like buying Equilibrium now! Very nicely edited. But Closer was quite shocking to me. That movie American Psycho really has excessive amount of nudity, sex and violence and yet I was laughing at some scenes. Maybe the main character is such a vain serial killer? I don't recommend Closer. And I am not surprise why the other movie, The Machinist was left out. Saw the trailer and I was like beyond shocked. He looked like back in those Nazi torture camps.

By the way you need the DIVx codec, and with it you can play the avi files using your Windows Media Player. She has placed a link in that very page where you can download this codec for free.

A question to ponder. In American Psycho I saw so much of nudity. And I haven't even seen the movie proper. I wonder, is it that easy to strip off in front of the camera? Are the westerners more comfortable with their own body that they can flaunt it (admittedly, he does have a very beautiful body in that movie) and so running around totally naked and be seen by millions is nothing but to us Asians, kissing also shy shy? Can you do what he did on the camera?

Ushering the Year Of The Dog
Permanent link Post a Comment 0 comments

If you're interested after reading THIS POST of mine, this is the one stop post for all about Chinese Zodiac signs and what the year of the dog, beginning this Sunday will bring to us all. Like I said, dragons will suffer and my only advice after reading bad news for us dragons, HIBERNATE. That's the only way to survive this year. Before you got for your predictions and all, a note of caution; don't take these seriously eventhough I may be taking it seriously. Ok? Now if you're new to this; check the following information first.

1. Know your zodiac sign
Which of the 12 signs are you? Check HERE. Make sure you remember a simple rule; before Chinese New Year you belong to the previous year's animal sign eventhough you may be born in the year after. For example, you're born Jan 1st 2006. Sorry friend, you're not under the dog sign but previous year's sign since Chinese New Year has yet to pass.

2. Know your element
You can be wood, metal, fire, earth, water and you can even be more specific but let's not be that specific. Once you know your sign, check HERE for your element by choosing your zodiac sign and then look at the top table for your month of birth.

3. Read about your zodiac sign
You may want to know more what governs your sign, personality, compatible animals and what nots. You can read them at the place you checked your elemt in no. 2 above that is HERE.

4. Dog Year generally
Year of the Fire Dog - What the masters say
To most of us, fire spells danger. Truly, the Year of the Fire Dog (Jan 29, 2006 to Feb 17, 2007) seems to be too hot to handle and portends danger! With the rising costs of living and transport fares, the public’s perception of the year is one of pessimism. And those who are luckless this year will be dogged by worries. Chinese astrologers say that those born in the Year of the Dog are in conflict with the Grand Duke of Jupiter or Year Duty God (Tai Sui in Cantonese). Even Dragon people too are said to clash with the Year Duty God. To minimise bad luck, people born in the Year of the Dog and the Dragon should flock to temples for prayers!“It’s generally not a good year. It is a year of general conflicts and there will be a lot of quarrelsome activities and misunderstandings. Negotiating contracts will be tough,” says geomancer master Yap Boh Chu, son of renowned feng shui grandmaster Yap Cheng Hai, who runs a feng shui academy in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. [Source]

Not bad enough for some of you? Check out the individual forecasts.

5. Individual forecasts
The following are more or less like the ones I read in local newspaper that did not mince its words. Original source is HERE. If you can't take bad news (especially for Dragons, Dogs, Ox), there are some gentler versions but not quite the same as I have read in the papers. Well I am shaking with dread for the new year.

Generally, great year for snakes, tigers, average year for ox but bad bad year for dragons and dogs.

Here goes ...

Your Career Outlook
2006 is a year when you need to proceed with caution. Unfortunately the year may be fraught with difficulties.

You may find office politics rampant in your workplace and there are a lot of conflicts among the staff. Be alert and be more diplomatic to avoid offending your superiors or co-workers. One of them may bear a grudge and find ways and means to get back at you.

Be more selective of your friends or you may end up mixing with bad company. This is especially true if you are still young and impressionable.

Months that are relatively more favourable are February, March, June, November and December.

Your Wealth Outlook
This will be a difficult year for you to accumulate wealth. If you are currently employed and have a stable income, you should try to maintain status quo and not make any rash decision that may jeopardize your stable income.

Avoid making substantial financial investments and definitely steer clear of speculative activities such as gambling because your wealth luck this year is very weak.

Try to be prudent in your spending and put aside some of your income as savings. Monitor your finances closely so that you will not have financial difficulties.

Your Health Outlook
Your health outlook this year does not look very promising either. You are prone to mishaps and accidents. Try not to engage in dangerous activities such as extreme sports. Always be safe than sorry. Do not drive after you drink. Stay away from drugs and do not engage in unprotected sex with multiple sex partners.

Lead a healthy lifestyle by having a good diet, exercising regularly and sleeping well to build up your body’s resistance to diseases.

Your Romance Outlook
You may be feeling vexed and lousy about yourself because of your run of bad luck this year. You have to try your best to lift up your spirit. Otherwise people will be put off by your negative behaviour. This may prevent you from meeting prospective love interests if you are single. If you are already in a relationship, your negativity may distance you from your partner.

Do not take your anger out on others too. You are not just being unfair to the person on the receiving end, you are also jeopardizing your chances of a good relationship.

Your Career Outlook
2006 is a year when you should proceed with caution in all aspects of your life, including your career.

You may put in a lot of effort but achieve little. In everything you do, there seem to be many challenges that you need to overcome. It is difficult not to be frustrated but you will have to try your best to stay calm and level-headed. This is not the best time for you to make hasty decisions and you should avoid acting on impulse.

If you are running your own business, you need to be extra cautious. Less haste, more speed. Do not take shortcuts and do not get yourself involved in illegal means of making money.

If you are an employee, make sure you work hard and take your work seriously. Do not be preoccupied with proving yourself or staying in the limelight. This is a year you should just work hard and maintain a low profile.

This is a year of change for you and you may find yourself switching jobs, getting transferred, or relocating.

Good months to act on major career decisions include March, June, October, November of 2006 and January 2007.

Your Wealth Outlook
Manage your finances well or you may get a rude shock the next time you check your bank balance.

If you are working, your job will continue to provide you with a stable income. However do not act as a guarantor for others. Also avoid speculative activities such as trading in futures and gambling. You are unlikely to get a windfall.

Wealth luck is strongest in April and December so make full use of these two months to make your major financial decisions.

Your Health Outlook
Your health looks relatively more promising in this year of general bad luck. You are unlikely to contract any major illness. You may suffer from fatigue. Make sure you eat well and exercise regular.

Stay away from drugs. Also do not lead a promiscuous lifestyle or you may get sexually transmitted diseases. This is also a year when you are prone to mishaps and accidents. Try to avoid dangerous activities such as extreme sports.

Your Romance Outlook
2006 may be a year of emotional upheavals. If you are in a relationship, make the effort to spend more time with your partner to avoid the intrusion of a third party.

You have to act as a mature adult or you may find that your relationship will be very volatile and subjected to many ups and downs. If you and your partner are not mature in outlook, your relationship is unlikely to last.

Your Career Outlook
Your career prospects are looking very bright in 2006. This should be a very fruitful year whether you are in business or an employee.

If you are managing your own business, you will be able to outwit your competition and do extremely well. Stay responsive to changes in the market and your business should grow by leaps and bounds.

Improving on your interpersonal skills will increase your chances of a promotion or a raise. You will be surrounded by supportive superiors and co-workers. New business contacts may provide you with more career or business opportunities. This is definitely a great year to realize your ambitions.

If you have been contemplating a career switch or requesting for an internal transfer, you will find good opportunities to do so this year.

Favourable months to make a major career move include February, March, June, November and December.

Your Wealth Outlook
Lady Luck is shining on you this year and you will find wealth coming to you from all directions.

If you are working, your job will continue to provide you with a stable income and there is even the possibility of a raise and/or a fat bonus. You may also get a windfall from your occasion visit to the casino or from the lottery.

You have to exercise prudence when you are making investments lest you fall victim to business scams.

Do not get carried away and end up spending all your money. This is a good year for you to accumulate wealth and you should not let this golden opportunity pass.

Your Health Outlook
Sex with multiple partners and liquor should best be avoided for the good of your health. Exercise restraint when you are out having fun.

Pay special attention to your diet and hygiene because you may fall sick from what you eat. Illnesses related to your digestive system should not be taken lightly and you should seek medical treatment early.

Your health may deteriorate in the second half of the year.

Your Romance Outlook
Love is in the year in 2006. You are in a romantic mood and your thoughtfulness will surprise and impress your partner.

If you are already in a good relationship, this is a good year to settle down and start a family.

If you are single, get yourself involved in more social activities and you are likely to find Mr. or Ms. Right this year.

Your Career Outlook

Things can get political in your workplace and someone may be out to discredit you or make your life a lot harder. Therefore it is very important to be careful about who you are mixing around with.

Mind your own business and try not to step on other peoples’ toes. If someone is trying to make things difficult for you, try your best to remain calm and collected. The way to handle this is to be more meticulous in your work to avoid making mistakes and blunders. Be professional at all times.

Your Wealth Outlook
You are quite lucky this year and you may make a small windfall from your occasional trip to the casino. It is advisable that you be more prudent in your spending and save up for rainy days.

Lucky months are February, May, June, October and December.

Your Health Outlook
You are naturally popular and have a wide social circle. Hanging out with friends is a part and parcel of your life. Just make sure you do not drink excessively and stay away from drugs.

Pay special attention to illnesses related to your stomach and respiratory system. Seek medical treatment early if you do not feel well.

You are also prone to mishaps and accidents this year. Try to avoid dangerous activities such as extreme sports.

Your Romance Outlook
Someone may be out to thwart your relationship with your partner. Do not listen to rumours. If you are feeling insecure about your relationship, a better approach may be to talk openly about it with your partner. If you choose not to confront the issue and instead listen too much to what a third party got to say, your relationship with your partner may not work out.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us MONKEY

Your Career Outlook
This may be a frustrating year for you in terms of your career. Try to focus on fulfilling your roles and responsibilities well. Be down-to-earth and take one step at a time. Do not be impatient with your progress or be discontented with your achievements

This may be a good time for you to upgrade yourself by picking up new skills and knowledge so that you have more career options. Even if you are not thinking of switching jobs, equipping yourself with relevant skills will allow you to perform in your current position more effectively.

Favourable months to make major career moves include April, May, September, and December.

Your Wealth Outlook
Try not to make any decisions that may jeopardize your present source of stable income. For example, do not quit your current job before you find a new one. Stay off speculative activities such as gambling as your chance of getting a windfall is low.

Manage your finances well and do not make any major investments especially in the months of February, March, August and November.

Your Health Outlook
Your health may be weak in 2006 and you are more susceptible to illnesses. Make sure you see a doctor when you are ill to avoid your condition from taking a turn for the worse.

Try to maintain a positive outlook. Stress and depression will only affect you adversely emotionally and physically. Do not tire yourself out and make sure you have ample sleep.

Your Romance Outlook
You may be feeling vexed and lousy about yourself because of your run of bad luck this year. You have to try your best to lift up your spirit. Do not take your anger out on partner. This will only alienate you from him or her.

This is a difficult time and you need an understanding and mature partner to help you through. Your relationship may be in jeopardy if it is not built on a foundation of love and trust.

Your Career Outlook
2006 will be smooth sailing for you, a year that allows you to forge ahead with little difficulties and obstructions.

However you should be wary of business scams that may cost you your fortune and your reputation. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

This is not a good year to make any major changes in your career. Try not to make a job switch or request for a transfer.

If you absolutely need to make a career move, do so in the months of April, June, August, November and December.

Your Wealth Outlook
Your wealth luck is strong in 2006 and this is a good year for you to accumulate your wealth. You may get a substantial raise or a fat bonus at year end. If you have been putting off an important purchase in the past, you may also find yourself finally having the ability to make that purchase.

Wealth luck is strongest in the months of April, July, August of 2006 and January 2007. However possible financial loss may occur in the months of February, May, September, and December. Be more careful and alert.

Your Health Outlook
Your health may be weak in 2006, especially if you are a woman born in the year of the Rat. You may find yourself falling sick very easily. Fortunately your ailments are unlikely to be life-threatening.

Take care of your health and see a doctor immediately when you fall sick. You have a tendency to catch a flu or suffer from stomach-related illnesses.

Steer clear of alcohol, cigarettes and drugs. Once you start, you may find yourself addicted to them.

Your Romance Outlook
2006 is a great year for romance. If you are still looking for that special someone, you may find him or her this year. If you are in a steady relationship and thinking of setting up a family, this will be a good year for you to tie the knot. If you are planning to have a child, your wish may come true this year too.

However having too much luck in romance has its downside. If you are married, you have to be careful of extramarital affairs. If you are in a relationship, there may be a possibility of a third party. Be responsible so that you are fair to your partner.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usPIG

Your Career Outlook
2006 will be a much better year for you as compared to the previous year and you have the ability to improve your career by leaps and bounds.

If you are running your own business, your sales and profits should grow substantially this year. If you are working as an employee, there are chances of a good promotion or you may assume a new role that is advantageous for your career development. If you are studying, you will achieve good grades as long as you put in the effort.

However do not get carried away and become arrogant. Otherwise there may people around you who may get jealous and try ways and means to undermine you.

If you are thinking of starting your own business, you should look at doing so in the favourable months of February, July and September.

Your Wealth Outlook
This year bodes well for you if you are employed. There is a possibility that you may get a raise or an unexpected monetary reward.

Speculative activities such as trading in futures and gambling should best be avoided as you do not have much luck to have a windfall in 2006.

The first half of the year is the best opportunity for you to accumulate wealth as your wealth luck takes a turn for the worse after July.

Your Health Outlook
Although this is a good year for your career development, you should make sure you do not push yourself too hard and fall victim to stress and fatigue.

Pay attention to your diet in order not to upset your digestive system. This is especially so if you have high blood pressure or heart diseases.

Seek treatment early when you fall sick. Do not procrastinate lest your condition worsens.

Your Romance Outlook
Your romance luck this year is very good. You feel good about yourself and exude confidence. People around you will find you exceptionally attractive in 2006.

If you are single, you should get yourself out there and socialize more since your romance luck is riding high.

If you are in a long-term relationship, you may think about tying the knot with your partner this year and start a family.

However, be careful of the intrusion of a third party because people are naturally drawn to you. Handle affairs of the heart with maturity and do not become a two-timer.

Your Career Outlook
Your luck in 2006 is much better than in 2005. Stay grounded, level-headed and proceed with caution and this will be a fruitful year for you.

If you are thinking of starting your own business, 2006 will be a good year. You will receive a lot of support from your family and friends, and maybe even from people whom you hardly know.

If you are an employee, make sure you try to get along well with your co-workers. Do not try too hard to prove yourself. The last thing you want is for your superiors to feel threatened and for your colleagues to be jealous. When this happens, your career will be greatly hindered.

Your Wealth Outlook
There is a possibility of financial loss in 2006. Manage your finances well. Save up for rainy days. Avoid making investments that are highly speculative in nature.

February, March, July, November of 2006 and January 2007 are good periods for you to accumulate wealth.

You are also prone to financial losses due to burglary and robbery this year. Remember to lock your doors when you are out and at night. Avoid taking small alleys and going to rough neighbourhoods where there is a higher possibility that you may get mugged.

Your Health Outlook
Take care of your health in 2006. Pay special attention to your diet and hygiene because you may fall sick from what you eat. Make sure you do not have too many late nights. Otherwise you may find yourself feeling lethargic and losing concentration very easily.

Your Romance Outlook
You may feel that things are not really going right for you in terms of romance.

If you are single, you may feel especially lonely. March and June are good months for romance and you may meet someone you are interested in.

If you already have a partner, you may be having doubts about your relationship. Try to spend more time communicating with your partner. If you think there are problems, work through those issues with him or her. Otherwise your vulnerability may invite a third party and that will just complicate matters.

Your Career Outlook
2006 is a year when you should stay focused and work hard. Remain patient as you may not reap the rewards of your hard work immediately.

If you are running your own business, you should avoid making major financial investments. Although you may be presented with many business opportunities, you need to be extra careful and exercise due diligence. If you are able to do that, you may be able to go into a new business or start your own business successfully this year.

If you are an employee, you should improve on your interpersonal skills. Doing so will increase your chances of getting a raise or a promotion.

Try as much as possible to execute major plans in the months of March, July, December as well as January 2007. These are good months when your career luck is riding high.

Your Wealth Outlook
2006 is not a good year to make major financial investments. Speculative activities, such as trading in futures and gambling, should best be avoided because your wealth luck is weak.

Take charge of your finances and be prudent. Otherwise you may incur a significant financial loss. Avoid exposing yourself to potential liabilities and financial obligations, such as acting as a guarantor for someone else.

Wealth luck is more favourable in the months of February, July of 2006, as well as January 2007 so if you have to make an investment decision or engage in speculative activities, try to do so in these months to minimize your risks.

Your Health Outlook
Your wealth and health luck are low in 2006 and just as you should be extra careful of your wealth, you should also take care of your health. The critical period is from May 2006 to January 2007. This is when your wealth luck is lowest.

Do not over-exert and tire yourself out. Make sure you have ample rest. If you are sick, make sure you see a doctor and attend to your illness immediately to avoid any unnecessary complications.

In the month of September, you are also prone to traffic accidents so make sure you drive carefully and be extra alert to your surrounding when you are travelling.

Your Romance Outlook
You may be feeling frustrated because of your less-than-favourable luck this year and this may make you temperamental and hard to get along with.

You have a tendency to take it out on your loved ones and that should be the last thing you do. Remember that this year will be over before you know it and your bad luck is only temporarily. It is definitely not worth jeopardizing the long-term good relationships with your family and friends because of this bad patch.

Your Career Outlook
2006 is a great year in terms of career advancement. As long as you concentrate on doing your job well, your superiors are likely to appreciate your hard work and reward you for your good performance.

The one thing you need to take note is not to be too trusting. Make sure you exercise due diligence before you make any major decision. Also, check through important legal documents and proposals more carefully and do not leave it to someone else to do it for you.

Act on all major career and business plans in the months of April, May, July, August of 2006 and January 2007.

Your Wealth Outlook
This is a lucky year for you and you should be inviting wealth into your life. The income from your job will not only be stable, but there is a possibility that you may get a raise or a fat year-end bonus.

If you do your homework and make some sound financial investments, you are likely to reap positive returns. However do not engage in money-making activities that are highly speculative or illegitimate.

Favourable months are April, May, June, August, December of 2006 and January 2007.

Your Health Outlook
Your health may not be very good in 2006 and you should definitely take good care of yourself even though it seems like your career is going well for you.

Pay attention to your diet, do more sports and get ample rest. Your health luck is weak in March, July, September, October and November.

Your Romance Outlook
Things do not look very optimistic on the romance aspect. If you are still single, you may find it difficult to meet someone you fancy or you may be attracted to someone who does not feel the same toward you.

If you are already in a relationship, try to spend more time to understand your partner better. Open communication will strengthen your relationship. Do not be overly suspicious of your partner or listen to rumours.

Your Career Outlook
2006 will be a fruitful year for you and your career prospects look very bright. If you are thinking of starting your own business, this will be an excellent year. Make sure you are well-prepared so that your chances of building a viable and successful business are high.

Regardless of whether you are running your own business or working as an employee, you should be wary of business scams. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. If you fall into such traps, it may cost you your career or your wealth. So be extra careful.

Improve on your interpersonal skills and be a better team player. Doing so will allow you to achieve your goals much faster.

Your Wealth Outlook
This is a great year for you to accumulate wealth and you should take the opportunity to make some financial investments or go into a business venture.

There is also the possibility of an unexpected windfall. It could be an inheritance; it could be the lottery.

Favourable months are May, September, December of 2006 and January 2007.

Your Health Outlook
Your health outlook is considered average this year. Make sure you see a doctor when you are not feeling well. Seeking treatment early is a wise move.

Make sure you drink moderately if you find yourself needing to socialize and entertain frequently. Avoid having too many late nights and make sure you get enough rest.

Take care of yourself well especially in the months of June, October and November as you are prone to illnesses.

Your Romance Outlook
A great year for romance whether you are single or attached. If you are single, you will have many opportunities to widen your social circle. You exude confidence and charisma, and people are attracted to you. Take your time to get to know people you are attracted to and do not rush into a relationship.

If you are already in a relationship, your relationship will grow from strength to strength. There is also the possibility of a newborn in the family so if you and your spouse are planning to have a child, this will be an opportune time.

Your Career Outlook
2006 will be a fruitful year in terms of your career. Things are likely to progress smoothly and you will be presented with many opportunities.

If you are running your own business, you need to stay grounded and do not engage in unlawful or speculative activities. Some money-making ventures may seem very appealing but they may land you in trouble with the law.

If you are an employee, you should improve your interpersonal skills and try not to engage in any sort of conflicts and office politics.

If you are a student, you are likely to do well academically if you put in the effort.

Your Wealth Outlook
This is a favourable year for you to accumulate your wealth. It is a good year for making investments. It is also a good year for starting your own business. Don’t miss this good opportunity.

If you are thinking of making a trip to the casino, this may be a good year since your luck is riding high. Just do not be obsessed with speculative activities.

Wealth luck is highest in the months of February, March, June, August, and December. Make your investment decisions in these months so that your chances of reaping a substantial return are high.

Your Health Outlook
You may be in good health but try not to lead too hectic a lifestyle. If you need to entertain, try not to drink and smoke excessively. You should also take care of your emotional well-being. Your emotional upheavals may draw you toward drugs and alcohol and that will be extremely detrimental to your health.

You are prone to accidents and mishaps in 2006. Avoid engaging in extreme sports and other dangerous activities.

Your Romance Outlook
Do not neglect your partner because of your hectic schedule. Your busy social calendar may make your partner insecure and lead to tiffs between the two of you. Try to be mature and reasonable and do not say things that you may regret later.

If you are not seeing someone at present, you may not have much luck in 2006 either. Be adventurous and widen your social circle. The year will be over before you know it.

Why I dread the coming Chinese New Year
Permanent link Post a Comment 6 comments

This 2006 will be the fire dog's year and dogs are ...

"People born in the Year of the Dog possess the best traits of human nature. They have a deep sense of loyalty, are honest, and inspire other people¡¦s confidence because they know how to keep secrets. But Dog People are somewhat selfish, terribly stubborn, and eccentric. They care little for wealth, yet somehow always seem to have money. They can be cold emotionally and sometimes distant at parties. They can find fault with many things and are noted for their sharp tongues. Dog people make good leaders. They are compatible with those born in the Years of the Horse, Tiger, and Rabbit." [Source]

Read in many papers that this year will be good for those people born under the cutesy animal symbols but very bad year for those born in the year of Dogs (was there ever a good year for those born under the same symbol as that year?), Ox, DRAGONS (the worst). DRAGONS! ME! And already I can feel the heat of the coming bad year. I told my mom to please go do those Tai Sui thingy because I really really need it. I welcome 2006 Dog year with dread. But it is a year I must go through. No choice. I know you must be wondering why I am suddenly so superstitious but wouldn't you? I am just influenced by all these predictions and forecasts and whatever.

Here to a good year for dragons. The reason why dog year is bad for dragons is apparently a clash of personality. Dogs are loyal, gentle, friendly, trusting but dragons are arrogant, opinionated, wannabe leaders...opposite of dogs.

And now fire dog! FIRE! And I am a fire dragon. So that means we will burn each other till we are dust! What to do? What to do?!

Sammi Cheng : Before & Way Before Pictures
Permanent link Post a Comment 0 comments

Remember I posted a link to the article about Gordon Lam? The webmistress got her own domain and now called Jayne Stars. I just wanna post this ARTICLE about Sammi Cheng. I am in total disbelief. If Chae Rim didn't look quite like herself in the picture I posted right below this post, you should see Sammi Cheng. I believe other than losing weight she must have done some works because she really looked like a different person. And confirmed that she has had this morose empty looking expression since young! Total disbelief!

The definition of repeated viewings
Permanent link Post a Comment 5 comments

How many times can one person watch the same movie in the matter of weeks? Let me count ...

Sometime a week ago watched Batman Begins first time.

Came home watched it a second time.

Then my eldest sister watched it again, so the third time and that was 2 days ago.

Yesterday second sister watched quarter of it.

Then today second sister continued the movie and watched until maybe a quarter left.

Tomorrow I bet finishing the quarter.

All in all I have lost count how many times I have seen Batman Begins. Not yet bored with it and still find it funny and strangely endearing but really, 3 nights in a row is more than enough. I kept hearing "A symbol ... something elemental" and I kept thinking how trusting Bruce is with regards to his technology. He literally jumped off the rooftops and I was thinking what if that wing thing refused to open? Then how? HOW?!

I think I have had enough of Batman Begins for a while or what I call, Batman Beginning Again, Batman Beginning Yet Again, Batman Returns to Begin Again, Batman Forever Beginning Again ... by the way my sister watched this movie. One can only look at Christian Bale for that many times before feeling...I need a change of handsome face.

Oh by the way I saw something very interesting in the newspaper that some of you, a very few of you might be interested. Will scan it and post it this weekend.

I am now watching Shine On You. I think that's the title, not to be mistaken with Shame On You. I thought the 1st episode was so very funny. Watching Michael Tao running to school late and the students running along had me in stitches. Finally something lighthearted after the mega heavy 1 million tonnes worth, Split Second.

Roundup of stuff
Permanent link Post a Comment 8 comments

I can't believe it! I have watched Batman Begins like 3 times in 3 days averaging 1 time 1 day! THREE TIMES in THREE STRAIGHT DAYS! I admit, the beginning was slow, the almost ending long, the women not important, disliked this Gotham City and Christian Bale is THE MAN, BUT DAMN! I watched ut 3 times in 3 days! Wow!

And then I watched Spiderman II on TV and wow! Long but enjoyable.

Watched All About Eve (selected episodes), vomitted blood a few times because of the you know what but you know who just really made my day, making me itch to buy that DVD from PMP Entertainment.

By the way saw Speedy Video selling DVDs of Korean dramas now. Saw Winter Sonata and some new ones BUT expensive. Why not go to Coolwin-Video.com? Got some discounts there, at least save RM30-00 or so. I wanted to buyt My Name Is Kim Sam Soon, BUT out of stock. And itching itching, saw that All About Eve DVD!

I am also watching Rome, since House MD's season 1 is over. Rome is good, except about Cleopetra "Look at me wriggle myself on the bed looking oh so sexy" scenes. Shocking series. Incest (oh yes, showed it too!), murder, paedophiles, rape, everything. A must see. And anyone knows Ciaran Hinds? Anyone? I was so happy to see "Captain Wenworth". Anyone seen Persuasion with Ciaran Hinds in it? So romantic. A must watch.

Watched Pride & Prejudice again. No no not that movie version by Keira Knightly. My definition of Mr Darcy (notwithstanding Laurence Olivier's version which I did not watch) has to be Colin Firth and no other. Sorry to say, Keira Knightly is not my idea of Elizabeth Bennet. Neither is Jennifer Ehle but well, I don't really like Elizabeth "The Rules Girl" Bennet. But you must watch BBC's Pride & Prejudice. It is truly addictive once you start watching. Got it in DVD you know. By the way it is a mini series.

Now I am hoping to catch Hostel (heard that it is super violent-great!), Brokeback Mountain (banned by Malaysian government, which makes it all the more interesting) and Wallace & Gromit feature film. Meaning where else to buy? Yes, more business to the ehhem..you know who.

So what are you watching and what do you wish to watch? Tell! Tell!

By the way, anyone here knows the link to my HBO Band Of Brothers review which I wrote a long long time ago? Anyone?

Pearl posted some clips of Christian Bale dancing and singing. Links expiring in 7 days. SEVEN DAYS! Go now! Hurry!

My domain transfer to PublicDomainRegistry.com is going on. Will know if all goes well in a few days. I am sure it will. But still get ready, if this page does not exist, try point2entertainment.com because that's the name I'll register if all else fail. I hope not. Slap my mouth.

Chinese New Year is coming soon. So fast. No preparation, no nothing. Not hoping for Ang Pows also. Yes, my life is miserable. Exactly a 4.7 if you know what I mean. If I had been even more honest, I doubt it could reach a 2.5.

ASTRO is showing not sure what's the name, but Kenix-Bobby-Michael Tao teacher story? Looks interesting, upbeat, funny. I hope NOT preachy.

Ok, that's it. Nothing mich of everything else. Please, any submision, do send them in. I have my Batman Begins review but because of the domain transfer, I am going to post it later.

The ending of Split Second
Permanent link Post a Comment 5 comments

It is depressing to see probably ALL of the male leads in this series die, the only difference is how they die. For sure Kevin died, illness, Alex died, shot by policemen (was Yoyo really there or he was imagining it?, Marco died but I didn't see how he died (someone told me he was knifed by Yoyo?) and last but not least, Patrick, shot by Alex. Did he die? Why he didn't go to the hospital? The last scene was him helped by the Thai girl, seriously injured. I said probably he didn't die but my sister reminded me, he was shot point blank and look at the blood. So at the end I think he too will die.

Sad isn't it? Tragic in fact.

TVB Red Envelopes

Taken from TVB New Series Discussion Forum, at first I thought maybe fans created these but they look too nice you know. I wonder whether every artiste at TVB has one or just the main ones? If main ones, what about the older ones? Have a look ...

You don't even have to worry not knowing who is who since the names are printed on the envelope. I wonder who will get these? Of all the ang pows, I like Myolie (very chirpy looking girl), Raymond (handsome but too thin) and Tavia Yeung (nice qipao). The men in here look mostly tired. If you know of other similar ang pows for other artistes, do post the links here.

Golden Globes & American Idol 5
Permanent link Post a Comment 13 comments

Were Stephen Chow, Chen Kaige, Jang Donggun all at the Golden Globes? Can't find them and can't see them!

Anyway AI 5. Watched the first 2 episodes of audition and I have to say, mothers and grandmothers really love their children and grandchildren's singing so much eventhough they suck. I can't believe Simon was so mean to that black guy who actually trained hard, dressed well but sang badly and said he is better off disgusing as a woman. What? And why is Paula and Randy letting a hyper active guy who can't sing to get in? So that they can then cruelly reject him in the second round? And did anyone seen yesterday night's episode (Thursday). That person called Zachary. Boy or girl I was wondering? Well a boy but my God, so thin, so effiminate, so scary! Even Simon was confused and I was too! And what about that over cooked sun burnt Ashlee Simpson lookalike? So scary!

But a few good ones. Glad to hear so many variety this year. Thanks to John Stevens we get to hear more crooners. And they're so young! And thanks to Bo Bice, we see more rocker, alternative pop dudes. Definitely welcomed for variety instead of screaming women.

Amongst all I have seen, I was very impressed with the first pair of black twins I think, quite big sized, both can really sing. Then there was this really handsome 17 year old white crooner, sing ok but he has got the looks! He can be an actor. I will definitely follow his "career" in AI. Then there was this big sized lady singing an awesome rendition of Alicia Key's song, was it Falling or something like that? These few stuck in my mind.

As usual we have the ones who are jokers, glad that Simon cut him off before he sang another word. You know that Statue of Liberty who was singing "START SPREADING THE ..." and Simon rudely but rightly said "Thank you". And what is it withh Paula Abdul fighting with Simon? Her comments are getting more and more airhead you know. Either reject or accept, like Randy. Paula is wishy washy and Simon too mean.

But looks like we have got a few good ones already. AI 5 is now showing every Wednesday and Thursday, starting from 8pm on Channel 70 ASTRO.

How's my life? Well a 4.7 really ...
Permanent link Post a Comment 2 comments

I saw a rather interesting LIFE chart at Pearl's Blog and I joined the bandwagon. Guess what's the score for my life? I was very honest with my answers and apparently my life is not worth the fuss ... quite depressing actually ...

This Is My Life, Rated
Life:
4.7
Mind:
5.6
Body:
4.5
Spirit:
4.5
Friends/Family:
3.9
Love:

Take the Rate My Life Quiz

Your Life Analysis:

Life: Your life rating is a score of the sum total of your life, and accounts for how satisfied, successful, balanced, capable, valuable, and happy you are. The quiz attempts to put a number on the summation of all of these things, based on your answers. Your life score is on the low end. Making key changes to different aspects of your life will bring you greater fulfillment. Do not be discouraged. Seek help outside yourself if need be. There is always time to change, and change will bring many rewards. (Read more on improving your life)

Mind: Your mind rating is a score of your mind's clarity, ability, and health. Higher scores indicate an advancement in knowledge, clear and capable thinking, high mental health, and pure thought free of interference. Your mind score is not bad, but could be improved upon. Your mental health is not weak, but you are not achieving full mental clarity and function. Learn how to unclutter your mind. Keep learning, keep improving, continue moving forward. Read advice from other quiz-takers on improving the mind.

Body: Your body rating measures your body's health, fitness, and general wellness. A healthy body contributes to a happy life, however many of us are lacking in this area. You have a rather low body score, which means that your physical health is not in a good condition. You must put a higher priority on your body, focusing on nutrition, exercise, and stress reduction. Proper focus will lead to great improvement, leaving you feeling energetic and happy. Read advice from other quiz-takers on improving the body.

Spirit: Your spirit rating seeks to capture in a number that elusive quality which is found in your faith, your attitude, and your philosophy on life. A higher score indicates a greater sense of inner peace and balance. You seem to be lacking in spirit. Improve your score by refining your beliefs and searching for answers to philosophical questions. Consider new belief systems if your current beliefs are not rewarding you. Read advice from other quiz-takers on improving the spirit.

Friends/Family: Your friends and family rating measures your relationships with those around you, and is based on how large, healthy, and dependable your social network is. Your friends and family score suffers, yet it does not need to be this way. Strengthen your social network by reaffirming old bonds. Seek out new friendships, and they will provide you the reward you need. Try using MeetUp.com to find people near you who share your interests.

Love: Your love rating is a measure of your current romantic situation. Sharing your heart with another person is one of life's most glorious, terrifying, rewarding experiences. Your love score is very low, indicating trouble. There is love out there for you. Seek the advice of wise people on how to go about finding it. Do not lose hope. Read advice from other quiz-takers on finding and maintaining love.

Finance: Your finance rating is a score that rates your current financial health and stability. Your finance score indicates that your financial situation is in disarray. This is an all-too-common problem. Do what you can to live within your means while improving your financial prospects for the future. Read advice from other quiz-takers on improving your finances.

I think my financial situation is quite accurate, love life is actually zero but I wonder where I got that number and the one I like is the mind part. The rest are just B.S. but are actually quite accurate. I wonder anyone got perfect score without cheating a bit? So how's life? Well when someone asks me that I would at least know the answer ... "My friend, my life is exactly 4.7. Not quite a 5 but definitely never a 4.6."

What about you? Try the quiz and do tell me your rating.

An update on my domain woes. Finally registerfly.com is alive! Got my domain unlocked. Kinda miss registerfly.com, even got huge discounts that is half of what is charged by the Malaysian companies but I thought, well better move to a Malaysian company because no need to use credit card. I have decided on another company, called EasyNet Interactive, RM48-00 but I just like the interface and the website look. Yes I too am into packaging. No wonder my life is a 4.7. I am a disgrace to my own life. Shame shame.

VERY VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE.

IF but if you see this page, then it means transfer was successful.

Do take note.

Woes of transferring my domain part trois
Permanent link Post a Comment 0 comments

Is troi THREE?

Anyway an update if anyone is interested in case you're going through the same hassle.

I have finally given up on registerfly.com who has been faithfully serving me for the past ermmmm 2 years or so. Checked with many local companies who all answered my questions, albeit in different degree of politeness and ah beng-like manner, I have finally decided on 1stopweb800.com aka tsm-soft.com. The price for renewal and transfer is RM40-00. A bit more expensive than registerfly.com, cheaper than most Malaysian companies which charges RM55-00 but not the cheapest and the cheapest I encountered was RM35-00. They do not offer any frills, in fact I will be losing out on a free webpage, free domain forwarding and I think perhaps the ability to lock/unlock my domain name. But the essentials are there (I hope). Godaddy is even cheaper and in fact offered loads of free stuff but what to do? Malaysia blacklisted.

So why this company you may wonder and if you're not, well I'll tell anyway.

I realised today that I have not filled in any form for like years because I had to fill in their order form and it was confusing but luckily due to the intimacy of relationship between the Managing Director and customer, I realise it doesn't matter. I have sent him like 3 emails, mostly with important questions mixed with stupid questions and he answered them all patiently. I like the personal touches but there is also a danger; perhaps too many that one may not be able to cope. But then mine is domain name only and for as long as the company exists, I believe I will have no contact with them whatsoever. I have updated all my info save for unlocking my domain name and I pray that the transfer is smooth and successful. He did advised me that if all else fails get a new name but really I can't bear losing my point2e.com. I realised these few days how short, sweet and memorable the name is. I can't bear also to have you guys NOT updating the link.

I hope all goes well.

As for my hosting, I have checked some local companies and surprisingly quite affordable except less frills. I am very happy with my ace-host.net. They answer my mails within minutes, they try to give good answers and thus far my website is still up and running. But I want to tell you a funny incident.

I wrote to them in view of the possibility of a name change and they wrote back I had to pay USD10-00 to change the names. I was like WHAT?! but never mind, I understand. What was funny was the staff advised that they also provide domain registration. I was excited. A bit pricey but not much pricey than RM55-00 and I thought under one company! My host is reliable. And then came the killer. They do not do domain transfer. So I thought OK but I asked WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE REGISTRAR OF THE DOMAIN? and I am sure you understand that I was asking who is their registrar. And the reply was YOUR REGISTRAR IS REGISTERFLY.COM. I was laughing my head off. I don't know whether they're too efficient or don't quite understand my question. Anyway thus far they still accept Malaysia the blacklisted country. For that I am grateful and very happy. If not I can't imagine which host to choose.

Anyway if you want affordable hosting, have a look at ace-host.net

And if my domain transfer goes on well, I swear I will put tsm-soft.com's link in here for all to see. A good customer support system deserves recognition, even from a website which has about so called 70 visitors per day but more like 5 at most.

Golden Globes & Domain Names
Permanent link Post a Comment 0 comments

Ahhh so happy. Hugh Laurie won!! So very happy. Can't see Stephen Chow there! No Jang Dong Gun I suppose. But happy that Ang Lee, a Chinese won something AND he even said Happy Chinese New Year to us all! He gave what i thought to be a very gracious thank you speech, Hugh Laurie was funny and Geena Davies was cheeky. The rest are forgettable. Well done Hugh! Well done Mr Lee! Aiyah! No taste whatsoever! Kung Fu Hustle should have won! PERIOD!

Anyway domain names. I too do not wish for such a loooooong name. At long last I have narrowed down to 3 possible companies, all of whom replied my enquiries in a very speedy manner. The 4th one which I excluded answered my questions as well but were rather defensive and may I say, rude. And that was one which provided the cheapest, RM35-00. Choice No. 2 I called the helpline and the guy was knowleageable and helpful. Amount is RM48-00. I am tempted to go for this one BUT company only 2 year old. Two others gave long answers. I am glad they entertained my questions. I deliberately asked long and silly questions to see if they're answered professionally and thus far, quite satisfied except that again no details in the package plan. Email they elaborated more but why can't they put the info in the website?

Registerfly is killing me. I tried to unlock my domain again and again and again and still couldn't. One Malaysian company which is Choice No. 1 even gave an example for one domain name with my situation! RM40-00. Very interested BUT the order form is so confusing. The other looks professional, answers professionally and is RM55-00, the most expensive but in a way impressive.

I can't think of which one to join.

Do you know that you can only register your domain for 10 years? So what happens after 10 years? I have to change my name to own it?

Aiyahhhh the woes of transfer. My plan is if my present name could not be transferred for whatever reason (main reason being people at registerfly.com seems to have disappeared altogether), I have no choice but to adopt the full name. And then there is another problem. I need to inform my hosting company and don't know what I will need to do. Waiting for their answer. And all of the links in my pages are you know the shorter name!

I am going to make a decision by this weekend. I hope PRAY TO WHOEVE that my name, the short one get to be transferred. I can't imagine typing www.point2entertainment.com/rev/2005/05/take-my-wor-for-it-01-02.htm as a link. Oh God please NOOOOO!

Woes of transfering my domain name
Permanent link Post a Comment 2 comments

After waiting endlessly for registerfly's customer service to get back to me, I have decided to switch domain registrars. I swear they were better before, wonder how come now so inefficient?

I have checked a few local companies. Prices ranges from reasonable to moderately reasonable, affordable as well but no specifics. One thing I do not like is no specifics at all! And I read with dread that some local registrars said I must pay extra fee for some local organisations and I wonder why? WHY?

I am not sure of their credibility. I checked out e-ruang.com (who promptly answered by email at 12 midnight), tsm-soft.com and other 2 I can't remember their names. So far only two answered my mails, one of which (not e-ruang.com) was rather ah beng like answer, not impressive. E-ruang.com is RM35 per year but no specifics. What if suddenly got hidden costs? And a very new company. I have read some favourable comments.

I often wondered if my registrar go bust, what will happen to my domain name? Since authorisation is needed by my bust up registrar to transfer my domain to another host, does that mean bye-bye to my domain?

I am in a dilemma and I have a little more than 30 days to make a move. Actually counting also 10 days for registration, I have approx a month. Registerfly has disappointed me and godaddy has infuriated me. Malaysia! Singapore! Banned! We are pariahs!

I don't know. I do want to retain pointe.com since it is so easy to type. Point2entertainment.com was never in my original names for domain, and I forgotten why. Maybe name too long. I don't know.

Anyone from Malaysia or who has used any Malaysian service (as above) can give me some feedback? Anyone? If you're afraid of being sued for defamation if the service is bad, email me at funnlim@gmail.com

I hate such times. Reminds me of that first hosting company that left me in a lurch before I found this new one. What to do? What to do??

Woes of renewing my domain name...
Permanent link Post a Comment 0 comments

Renewing my domain name with registerfly.com has become a yearly pain, since Malaysia is blacklisted. And Godaddy refuses to accept orders from Malaysia, and can you believe it, Singapore too! Why are we being blacklisted? My domain name is expiring soon and I am searching for local Malaysian company to transfer my domain there. Anyone has any suggestion of a reputable one? By chance anyone here works for such a company that can advertise a bit for your company?

I have checked out 2, costing between RM40-00 to RM55-00 per year which is ok, about RM10-00 to RM20-00 more expensive but I need not use my credit card. I am not sure though whether do I need to buy their hosting plan (very expensive) or do they handle domain transfer. I am not sure whether I am allowed to transfer just 30 days shy from expiration date. I do not know these companies and I am testing their support system. I am quite irritated with registerfly.com and cursing godaddy.com. So I was wondering, and fearful that my domain name may expire before I can make a decision. I am sure no one wants my domain name but just in case there is someone waiting for my domain name to expire, do you think you can remember www.point2entertainment.com ?

Guys and girls, point2e.com is in the danger of extinction, and this is no joke as long as this issue is unresolved. HELP!

What a miserable day. Just miserable.

Intriguing quote
Permanent link Post a Comment 1 comments

I was surfing Just JDG Forum and I came across what someone wrote that was said by Gackt (really one of the most difficult name to pronounce) IN HERE where he said he is "mentally bisexual but physically heterosexual ".

I am intrigued by this quote. Does it mean he also likes men but don't dare to cross the line and actually sleep with one? Or does it mean he desires one but really, just desire and nothing more? Intriguing indeed. And are all men and women as such? I mean we have heterosexuals who sometimes fantasize about people of their own sex but never really go out and realise that fantasy for a number of reason, and I guess one of which is because they're mentally bisexual but physically heterosexual?

This kinda reminded me of what Matt Damon once said and I am not quoting his verbatim but I think it was he who said if he were gay he would want his lover to be Brad Pitt, I think. He's not gay, we know and Brad isn't either but it is interesting, that perhaps we do admire someone specific of our own sex but never quite cross the line. Is it so that homosexuals are those who loves their own sex without a specific choice (like dating until they find the one) and others who are heterosexuals but sometimes do desire someone from the same sex, as in a specific someone but you don't call them homosexuals because they don't act on it??

Intriguing indeed.

Oh great news. When Brad Pitt married Jennifer Aniston, I thought their baby would look great because great hair, strong jaw. Now that Brad is indeed having a baby with Angelina Jolie, definitely great hair, strong jaw AND plump bee stung lips guaranteed. Denial, denial, denial and now, pop, here's the baby! Are they ever going to get married OR may have already married? Ahhh Hollywood and the lives of the stars.

And in the tradition of Mr Gackt himself, I would like to say "Angelina Jolie is a hot woman". That I can't deny.

CLIP : Christian Bale talks about Steven Spielberg
Permanent link Post a Comment 4 comments

Not sure if you like to download this clip or not but I chanced upon this old clip of unknown source of Christian Bale honouring Steven Spielberg I think in the AFI awards or something way back in 1996 or around that time. Looking very young and un-Bruce Wayne like, he was musing about his filming experience with Steven Spielberg in Empire of the Sun. It was a hilarious account of the past, Steven was clearly quite embarassed and finally I knew Christian must have had a hard time filming that movie as the line between reality and play pretend became very woozy. Do have a look and have a laugh. By the way I can never detect Christian Bale's accent, quite neutral but leaning towards the British kind.

DOWNLOAD HERE [2.2mb]
URL : http://media.point2e.com/cb_aficlip.swf

Note : You will need Flash player to view this clip. I will add the link into Media & Music Files under DOWNLOAD > OTHERS > CHRISTIAN BALE later on.

And this I found at imdb.com Batman Begins trivia...

"David S. Goyer mentioned in an interview that his favorite pre-audition choice for Batman was Jake Gyllenhaal, but that he was won over by Christian Bale after seeing his test."

I shudder at that thought. I mean please, I stop at Tobey Maguire and no more! Jake Gyllenhaal as Batman? I would have fallen asleep watching his most intense scenes! Who's next? Elijah Wood? Of course Christian Bale would have won over the director, he is after all a better actor. And Ashton Kutcher also considered? I hope not seriously considered, just passing mention. Casting the right actor as Batman is so crucial you know, even a faux pas like Katie Holmes and the somewhat over the top storyline could not sink it. Christian Bale is just right, just intense enough. So scary ... and I hope there's a sequel, maybe Batman Continues. That would be nice.

I'm in shocked after reading the Batman Begins cast list ...

"Gary Oldman .... Jim Gordon
Rutger Hauer .... Earle
Ken Watanabe .... Ra's Al Ghul
Linus Roache .... Thomas Wayne
"

Ok I can't really recognise Ken Watanabe since I don't know him that well but Gary Oldman? He is forever unrecognisable to me, not even in Harry Potter. This man looks different in every single movie he was in, and he sounds different. Truly a character actor. Shocking too was Rutger Hauer? How many years have I not seen him or may have seen him but can't recognise him? You must watch Ladyhawke, a very moving love story with the worst movie soundtrack ever. AND Linus Roache was the father? I mean, can I ever recognise this actor at all? Have you seen I think called Priest? He was a homosexual priest (with at that time the unknown Robert Carlyle playing his lover, got sex scene also, shocking stuff!) who had no qualms breaking the celibacy oath but could not break the vow of secrecy when he heard a confession by a young girl that her father was raping her. He could not break that vow and yet could not live with his guilt. The ending was one of the most poignant and moving ending I have seen in a movie, where the victim that was the girl whom he have wronged personally forgave him and even hugged him when news broke that he was a homosexual in a very conservative neighbourhood. It is a must watch if you can find the movie.

Truly shocking, especially Gary Oldman who gave me a shock to know that he was INDEED Gary Oldman!

Star Online's recap of the ASTRO Drama Awards 2005
Permanent link Post a Comment 0 comments

Interesting recap of the ASTRO Drama Awards 2005 by Star Online, a must read for those who didn't see it. And at last found that pictue of Raymond's jacket and lo and behold, indeed quite alike.

But I don't think the writer knew exactly what she was saying when she wrote "It isn’t often that these Hong Kong celebrities visit our shores, so you can forgive my gushing.". Not the gushing part but HK celebrities have been coming to Malaysia almost every other week, especially Charmaine Sheh and gang. In fact some TVB artistes are here so often that really you missed them this week, well don't be surprised 2 weeks later here they are again.

But I agree on the comment of Anderson Junior. I have seen him done live shows before and I am curious why he is not TVB's no. 1 choice as an emcee. He is such a great emcee.

Anyway updated my post on the men's fashion at the awards show with Jang Dong Gun's style. Indeed, very similar.

Men's Fashion at ASTRO Awards 2005
Permanent link Post a Comment 0 comments

I was very fond of some of the men's fashion at ASTRO Awards and then I realised why ...

CHILAM
I was thinking about Chilam's fashion at the ASTRO Awards and that I liked it and then I suddenly remember it looked awfully familiar. Then I realised didn't Jang Dong Gun had similiar fashion as this at the The Promise Shanghai Premier on 15.12.2005? Same overall, especially the top but different hair.

Yep confirmed. Same top and same pants except Chilam buttoned up and JDG opened a few more buttons.

RAYMOND LAM
I can't quite remember Raymond Lam's but the top looked awfully familiar too. Isn't it the same as Jang Dong Gun again at the The Promise Press Conferenrce at Taiwan on 22.12.2005? Almost same jacket, same colour from what I remember but Raymond's was buttoned up. Again can't find the full body pic but again the top is similar.

Similiar but colour a bit different and Raymond's one no collar.

Another one by Raymond Lam is of course different but the same get up, the "My Shirt Is So Tight And My Coat 2 Sizes Too Small And My Shirt Looks A Bit Too Feminine But Must Show A Bit Of My Chest" look as seen below...

So is Jang Dong Gun a trendsetter now?

ASTRO TV Drama Awards 2005
Permanent link Post a Comment 14 comments

Shocking results and hilarious show, to sum up the ASTRO Drama Awards 2005 shown tonight over at Channel 30.

For one, as predicted these past 2 days by myself, Charmaine Sheh won Most Favourite Actress. But shocking shocking! Raymond Lam got Most Favourite Actor!! Another shocker was Most Favourite Mom was Christine Ng and dad was as expected, Damien Lau. Most Favourite Song was shocking, Point of No Return themesong whilst Most Favourite Moment was ... War And Beauty's death of little princess scene! Well that was expected. And Most favourite Series was as predicted, War And Beauty. Interesting win was Most Stylish Gun Holding Character was Wong Hei. Gigi Lai won Most Favourite Villain. The rest are as expected although the shocker was in Most Favourite Characters, Bowie Lam, Gigi Lai, Moses Chan and many many expected ones never made it into top 12! Damien Lau never made it, already guessed so. And guess what? Maggie Cheung did! I didn't hear Sheren Teng winning but the list I found said she did.

I was so happy to see Maggie Cheung there. She looked tired, put on a bit of weight, looked like she was or still is sick BUT still very pretty and yes, said the wrong thing again BUT was honest enough that I applauded her honesty. She said ...

"Thank you for this award, which is very special to me. For the past 2 years I have had very little luck at the awards ceremony since I was in Mainland acting and as some of you know, I was sick. Thank you for giving my character in War & Beauty its due recognition. Thank you for your support...""

Ahh such honesty. Loved her speech!

Another one that left a deep impression on me was Myolie Wu. Not only was she dressed so pretty, she looked even more pretty now! Best of all, she is so likeable and said such funny stuff and her impromptu impersonation of a dead but very famous actress, I think called Tam Pik Wan or something. It was very hilarious. And when she got her Most favourite Character award, she even hugged the girl who presented her the award (12 contestants from the I Am A TV Addict Game Show got to do the honours you see)!

One hilarious segment was when Raymond Lam and Ron Ng were looking for their mother in the sketch, Modern Twins of Brothers. 5 lucky girls got to hug these 2 guys!! So funny!

Hey, the winner from that TV Addict Game show got a kiss from Roger Kwok!! And Roger Kwok was handsome as well as charming. Raymond Lam was shockingly pale and thin but he was a gentleman. Ron Ng was cute, handsome but under dressed. And his singing routine was like a cheap karaoke session. Sorry Ron, please stick to acting unless you could dance better than you sing!

The show was hosted by Onn Tak Jun (excellent host, really can connect with the audience and he was so funny) and Chui Ling, who wasn't very good with timing.

The ones who really left a very bad impression on me were Chilam Cheung and Charmaine Sheh. They weren't rude, but they looked like they rather be somewhere else. Chilam Cheung looked stuck up, but handsome and sang very very well. But something seems to bother him and he didn't look like he enjoyed himself. Charmaine wasn't rude, but she looked like she wasn't enjoying herself and in a very lousy mood. Usually she may seem aloof but still smile a lot. But in this ceremony, even when interviewed, her answers were short and curt, she looked like she didn't like to be there, she was more than aloof, she was cold as well. Even winning the award didn't bring a big smile on her face. She wasn't rude I must repeat, not even arrogant, just like something was bothering her. Very bad impression. And her fashion sense is totally out of the window, first pink dress made her look fat and then the brownish one made her look like so not there at all.

I would think Myolie dressed the prettiest whilst Chilam and Roger both dressed very nice for this occassion. Maggie was more underdressed but still looking as glamarous as ever.

After tonight's show, I liked Myolie even more. She really has the charisma and the likeability to be TVB's No. 1 Sister. Maggie also left a deep impression on me. For one, the camera zoomed passed her and she was busy looking I suspect at the event's pamphlet, probably one of the few who even bothered to look at it. Or maybe she was looking at something else, I may be mistaken. And she happily smiled when fans were screaming the names of the would be winner of Most Favourite Actor. She was gracious enough to hold on to Charmaine's arm when both going up to receive the award for Most Favourite Drama, they didn't look like they hated each other.

Charmaine and Chilam however looked like they were miles apart when standing next to one another.

Anyway many thanked their fans but did Charmaine forgot to thank her fans? After all tonight's results is the perfect example of the power of fans' voting. Who would have thought Twins Of Brothers could be such big winner, that Charmaine Sheh was so very popular, that fans remembered Maggie Cheung and that Raymond Lam and Ron Ng are so famous here? And that Bowie Lam is really not that famous here?

My most disappointed moment was when I heard War & Beauty announced for Most Favourite Scene and I thought it was the Winter Sonata scene and then.. well can't win them all!

Shocking results. Poor Bowie Lam, not even on the list and poor Gigi Lai..we Malaysians may have voted the right actors for the wrong dramas but well, at least the choices were right. I like Raymond Lam and like I said, Charmaine Sheh should win something already. Next year perhaps Most Sulky Face Award? I think Charmaine and Chilam could get a tie for this new award!!
