This page, NEWS & UPDATES which is
actually the index page of this website has
grown into a huge database of my almost
daily ramblings of all stuff I hold dear to
my heart, including gossips of the most
sordid kind. For your convenience, I have
posted a list of posts which I thought is
pretty informative in my own way that you
might find interesting. The list itself may
be long but those selected few are the ones
I thought drives home the point I wanted to

SERIES' SUMMARIES
Sometime in 2004 I began
reviewing selected
series in an episode by
episode way, where I
called these reviews
EPISODIC THOUGHTS.
These thoughts are
mostly summaries of each
and every episode with
my opinion of that
episode included in it
as well. I may not
provide the most in
depth summaries but I am
very proud of the fact
that I could keep the
writing on such a long
winded basis each and
every night for the
entirety of the series.
I don't do this for each
and every series though
because it kills a lot
of brain cells, mine as
well as fellow netizens
who often joined in the
discussion by posting
informative stuff. These
thoughts are still open
for feedback and
discussion. Do check
them all out in
REVIEWS where it is
indicated with an

Farenheit 9/11, Bush, Kerry and the war on terrorism Permanent link ▫ ▫
I had the misfortune of watching this propomentary (propoganda + documentary) which was so sensationalised that I could scarcely believe it could win so many awards and yet be so not credible. I hated it and I walked out after just perhaps half an hour. The one thing that I feel one has a right to do is to criticise someone but with valid claims. This Michael Moore does none of that. In fact he distorted the truths somewhat. Of course Bush was lazy when he first began but to suggest he profited from Osama's escape from the American clutches and that he benefitted from the 911 tragedy is a travesty. That scene where he was informed of the tragedy and yet he proceeded with reading a book to the young ones in a class, that Moore narrated his stricken look was more about whether he can get away with this, whether he can profit from this, how he can explain blah blah blah. That was the scene that made me realise hate indeed cause total blindness. Look at Bush's face! He looked stricken, a sense of panic and in fact he looked troubled and we all know why! What did the world expected him to do? Tell the class he had to gon because 2 planes flew into the buildings and then cause panic to the little ones? That he can act immediately? He needed time to collect his thoughts. I am sure Kerry/Gore would have done the same. If he could just command straight away, this man is quite heartless. Even heart of steel Putin looked stricken when he heard what happened in Beslan. And there were many more that I'd rather not speak about. Oh ya, one I must say. The way Moore suggested, that Fox news was a fan of Bush. People can take side, I am sure CNN did too. And to suggest Bush winning through fictatious vote and rigging and corruption through ties with judges, father, friends in the electorate committee is an insult to the American voters who voted for Bush. Don't they exist too? Bush of course is connected, so was Kennedy and of course so is Kerry with his oh so rich wife. I find the accusations totally offensive and unfair. Bush may not have been the best president, he may not have been the most hard working, he may not even have been the smartest president, but I believe he tried and he wasn't a morally or legally corrupt person in every sense. Promote Kerry all you want, criticise Bush all you can, but never ever stoop so low as to suggest such nonsense.
I am not a Kerry fan, I am not a Bush fan, but I feel Bush has his goodness, and Kerry has his goodness though this man is still harping on "wrong law, wrong methods, wrong times" everything wrong. So what is right?
Place your votes wisely. You want to vote for Kerry? Then vote for him because you think he will do a better job. Not because you think the current president is a monkey which is what SNL is repeating almost every weekend, but very funny actually. Really as America laughs at Bush, I believe the world is laughing at America. I have no seen such disunity since ... I don't know since when.
Was Bush right to start a war? The world says no, US says no, people who were never in Iraq says no, some in Iraq say no but so far I have yet to hear from those who were raped by Saddam's son, families of tortured prisoners, etc say what they must say. Perhaps America should have waited for more people to die in Iraq, or perhaps America should not have bothered. The only reason why things are so messy there is not because America did what was considered wrong (morally and legally) but because the people there is not cooperating. Kidnapped hostages are not a reason to back away since so many have died and still they kidnapped more.
With this I want to end with two most ridiculous articles I have read in recent times.
One was a westerner journalist suggesting that life in Iraq before the war was not great but better than now because at least they had basic amenities. So what he meant I guess is we should all shut our eyes to minorities being slaughtered so that we can play bath every night with the water supply we had.
The other was a local Muslim girl who wrote to a newspaper in response to harsh criticisms about her religion and the role her religion played in terrorism today. I have great muslim friends but this girl is plain stupid when she said Saddam was less of a dictator than Bush whose soldiers had killed so many civilians, the number much higher than Saddam's track record. So if Iraq is such a great place to stay and Saddam such a great man, perhaps this lady might consider travelling there.
Sometimes hatred blind us from the truth, the very obvious truth. I don't care if there was WMD, I am sure the oppressed over there could sigh with relief.
As for Kerry's attack that why didn't Bush concentrate on Osama, one guy on the Oprah Winfrey show said it best when he said you can't schedule saving lives. Moreover we all know who knows where Osama is, just that we need these nations to cooperate. But they won't, because they pay lip service by saying we are anti terrorism but please don't ask us to do anything. Only Japan, Malaysia and we Asian countries dare to take up the challenge, even if some of our own hostages die. I may sound stupid by my rant here, but I just feel sometimes things aren't as simple as we would like to see it.
Could Mahatma Gandhi save the day? Why can't a great man like him live once again? What about Buddha? The world needs these two great beings.

The war is illegally wrong because according to the UN charter article 2(4), which prohibits war unless approved by the security council or if the country is under attack.
The war was neither approved legally, nor was it under attack by Iraq.
Therefore I still believe the war was wrong right from the beginning, and its true. The cause of the war was due to an intelligence report proved wrong, only after the invasion.
Indeed Saddam was a cruel dictator and almost everyone would agree that he would be safer behind bars, if not dead. But that doesn't give USA the right to remove the Iraqi leader from power.
There are definitely many people who were victimized under Saddam's rule. No doubt about that. But I also want to hear from the people who suffered from the USA invasion. Of all those who died in the war, a large number were civilians. About 1000 US troops died too. And I agree with Kerry on one point that all these people died from a threat that never even existed.
I don't believe in forcing democracy onto the Iraqis. I think the whole thing is pure irony, and I absolutely cannot see how you can liberate people by killing them. Neither do I view the world as a safer place.
Bush claims that they have managed to round up about 75% of the Al Qaeda leaders, but just how many more are emerging? You are right. These people are just not cooperating. But why should they cooperate? Why should their nation turn pro-american when they haven't been so for so long? Bush should have known that peace does not come from the barrel of the gun.
He should have just concentrated on apprehending Osama and not Saddam.
During Bush's 4 years, he tripled home security spending, but failed to allocate funds for other uses such as the maintainance of roads.
He focused too much on foreign affairs, neglecting domestic affairs such as jobs. During his four years, unemployment rose to an all time high. (so did oil prices)
Some even say that Iraq is only the beginning...
Why must USA always think they're the boss of the world?
Well... I live in a country which just had an election last month. The Prime Minister (aka Bush supporter all way) got re-elected. But at least we have compulsory voting - and we vote on Saturdays too. I'm really puzzled by USA's system of voting... but at the end of the day majority rules... at least we'd hope.
Whilst I agree an action without sanction may not be legal, and only imminent danger proves a valid reason to obtain such a sanction, the question is imminent danger to who? I have been watching and reading reactions from those who opposed the war in Iraq, what about those who supported it? The very people victimised in Iraq by their own people? The war may be wrong in legal terms, but morally is it wrong? It is a delicate thing. Very delicate issue that no one is right and no one is absolutely wrong. But if the war is wrong, but the consequence as in removing a leader that general consensus is a tyrant and a dictator ruling his country without much mercy at the expense of the well being of his own people is removed which is a good thing, so how wrong can that war be? If let's say one day China invades Taiwan, really invade (I doubt it will happen) and Taiwan begs for help, but no one wants to without sanction, should we wait and just see? Same situation as in Nazi Germany. Technically what they did was legally permissable since the laws allowed it but the laws are immoral. If a sanction is unreasonably witheld despite evidence of genocide, killings, scientific research and what nots are being done in a country, with or without sanction, a person must do what is right. Of course I do not agree with USA being the moral police of the world but sometimes someone has got to do something sometimes in the face of such cruelty. There are always two sides to a story. I personally feel Saddam should remain where he is, let him develope his weapons (which I am sure he had plans to do so), let him kill more of his own people, only then US should step in. Preemptive measures are too early for this situation because the world does not bother. I don't bother. I do not believe US has not been looking for Osama. I am sure his fellow men know where he is. How could they not know? Sometimes I feel the media is not giving us the full story. I have read such biased reportings, showing how a poor Iraq/Afghan rebel with no shoes on dead, having fought a jihad. These are no ordinary citizens. But this is history. I agree with Bush's policy when it comes to these terrorrists and I have a feeling this is why he is still in office because people don't want to negotiate anymore.
