I welcome your comments and feedback, positive or negative, right or wrong, long or short. All I ask for is for you to write your name (a nickname if you so wish) if you're posting as Other or Anonymous AND to show common courtesy to one another when posting your thoughts. YOUR Q's FOR MY A's

There is a FAQ [MAIN] database in this website where you will find info on how to link to this website, answers to some tech problems found in pages within this website as well as a great feature where you can post questions in relevant categories & I'll answer them. Try it out!

SELECTED POSTS

This page, NEWS & UPDATES which is actually the index page of this website has grown into a huge database of my almost daily ramblings of all stuff I hold dear to my heart, including gossips of the most sordid kind. For your convenience, I have posted a list of posts which I thought is pretty informative in my own way that you might find interesting. The list itself may be long but those selected few are the ones I thought drives home the point I wanted to make. Do check them out in MY POINT IS [Comments & Opinions].

SERIES' SUMMARIES

Sometime in 2004 I began reviewing selected series in an episode by episode way, where I called these reviews EPISODIC THOUGHTS. These thoughts are mostly summaries of each and every episode with my opinion of that episode included in it as well. I may not provide the most in depth summaries but I am very proud of the fact that I could keep the writing on such a long winded basis each and every night for the entirety of the series. I don't do this for each and every series though because it kills a lot of brain cells, mine as well as fellow netizens who often joined in the discussion by posting informative stuff. These thoughts are still open for feedback and discussion. Do check them all out in REVIEWS where it is indicated with an  [E] next to my name.

OFFBEAT STUFF

There is this one section in here that features offbeat stuff that are not entertainment based. The section is known as FUNN STUFF [COMMENTS & OPINIONS].

PERSONAL FAVOURITES

There are 3 sections in here that contain my personal favourites of all kinds. THE DDGs [COMMENTS & OPINIONS] which features specially made websites by myself with info & all related stuff of my favourite stars or stars I like to talk about, MEDIA & MUSIC FILES [DOWNLOADS] which has my favourite VODs and music files, most of them are taken from Chinese & Korean dramas & movies and some of which I am hosting for my net friends and THE STORYTELLERS [WEBSITES], where you'll find stories written by amateur writers like you and I.

Do check them all out!

How old are they?
Permanent link Post a Comment

Just wondering...I just read Patrick Tam is like 36, he looks good but he does look older ... anyone knows how old these people are and also more people that I may not have mentioned but have been around since forever?

Felix Wong
Annie Man
Ada Choi
Flora Chan
Bowie Lam
Marco Ngai
Joyce Tang
Joyce Koi (I swear she looks prettier each day and more feminine)
Jerry Lam
Chin Ka Lok
Lee San San
Michelle Ye
Shirley Yeung
Gregory Lee
Sonija Kwok
Deric Wan
Maggie Siu
Micheal Tse
Ron Ng
Bosco Wong
Yoyo Mung
Gallen Lo
Jessica Hester Hsuan
Frankie Lam
Roger Kwok
Kenix Kwok
Nick Cheung
Maggie Cheung Hor Yee
Lydia Shum
Liza Wang

Who else? Anyone famous, been around for some time, seen them all the time? Just curious. I guess I want to be surprised. Like I was shocked to discover Esther is 40 and Cecilia Cheung is I think mid 20s?

Thanks everyone, thanks Kidd.

I am just so surpried, that those I thought were old (Michelle Ye) were younger than I thought they were and those that I thought were younger (like perhaps Shirley) were older than I thought they were.

Looks can be quite deceiving. And yes, Kiki Sheung once played Deric's love interest and now she's a mom. I bet she will be Deric's mom in near future.

I just hope they reunite Maggie Siu and Deric Wan in a series together.

Anyway, anyone else who doesn't look their age?

Sonija looks older than her age though. In fact she looks older every day. Roger I think is 40?

Forgot to add, surprising was Kevin Cheng. 35? So he's like a decade older than Raymond and yet they don't look that much older from each other. This man looks good! Where was he before TVB?

So how old is Sheren Teng then??

I remember saying Charmaine looks like Kevin's big sister, because i thought he was way younger and now ....guess I have to eat my own words!

I was told that Sheren was 38. Yes, Sonija looks quite old for her age. Annie Man still looks very young. I've always thought Kevin was younger than Charmaine too. I found that it was suprising that Noel (Vivian) Leung is already 35 but she looks much younger than that.

Kevin Cheng has been around showbiz since at least 1993. He started out as a singer first, but his singer carreer was not successful. So, he left showbiz and only rejoin the industry recently. Before the signed with TVB, he has also done a few Taiwanese Series. 2 of the Taiwanese series I have seen him in are 'Handsome Siblings' and another about a mermaid. He play a villain in both series.

Here is a short bio of him that I found in spcnet.

'Kevin got his start as a singer. For a period of time between the early to the mid 90s, Kevin was quite well known as one of the powerful voices at Polygram (now Universal), including a controversial romance with fellow records co. mate, Linda Wong Hing Ping. He appeared in several Hong Kong movies, but failed to find a name for himself. Between 1995-6, he and Linda Wong ended their relationship. Soon, Kevin left the showbiz to study in the United States. Last year, Kevin returned to Hong Kong and signed with TVB for the first time as an actor.'

I too hope that TVB will once again paired up Deric Wan and Maggie Siu. They have great chemistry.

Kevin majored in civil engineering in UCLA before leaving his studies to pursue a singing career in the early 90s. However, he left showbiz between 1995 to 1996 not to study in the US but to develop his career in Taiwan. In 1997, he released a Mandarin album entitled "Because I Fell in Love With You", but met with limited success. He was slated to release a 2nd Mandarin album with the Taiwanese recording company but the release was put on hold indefinitely cos of the Asian financial crisis. So for years Kevin remained jobless in Taiwan until he finially agreed to take up a role in a Taiwanese series. However, it was also because of this that a TVB producer spotted him. Cos TVB was losing many of its leading men at that time (Sunny Chan, Michael Tao etc...), the producer asked Kevin to go back to HK to sign on with TVB, hence landing him in a small role in Network Love Story, and later in Burning Flame 2.

I never knew Kevin has been around for so so so long. Is his mandarin ok?Is his singing ok? I mean like Moses they all found success on TV. Very surprising that Kevin took ONE BIG circle back to HK and to stardom. Anyone got his pictures during the old days??

Kevin actually did find stardom as a newcomer and in the years 1993-1994, he was the hot favourite for the best newcomer at various HK music awards. But problems and misunderstandings with his mentor cum manager (apparently mainly over his relationship with Linda Wong) affected his career and the good fortune was short-lived. His subsequent albums did not do as well (he released a total of 8 albums, including singles).

His singing is ok, not as wonderful as singers like Jacky Cheung, but I think still rather solid and refined. Just my very personal opinion. You can hear some his songs online at this page: http://www.real2000.org/search.asp?

Is Kevin Cheng's mandarin ok? Not too sure... I suppose one's mandarin can't be too bad when one has lived in Taiwan for 5 yrs, thou I can't say for now. The only time I heard his speak mandarin recently was in Hard Fate (only one sentence). But from his mandarin songs, his diction sounds quite good, no sign of cantonese accent, which made me think mistakenly for years that Zheng Jia Ying (his mandarin name) was a Taiwanese singer.

For those who can read Chinese, this is a rather interesting and insightful interview with Kevin on his past and his views on life... Even more interestingly, however, is that this came from the magazine I call 'trashy' (Next mag).
