SELECTED POSTS

This page, NEWS & UPDATES which is actually the index page of this website has grown into a huge database of my almost daily ramblings of all stuff I hold dear to my heart, including gossips of the most sordid kind. For your convenience, I have posted a list of posts which I thought is pretty informative in my own way that you might find interesting. The list itself may be long but those selected few are the ones I thought drives home the point I wanted to make. Do check them out in MY POINT IS [Comments & Opinions].

SERIES' SUMMARIES

Sometime in 2004 I began reviewing selected series in an episode by episode way, where I called these reviews EPISODIC THOUGHTS. These thoughts are mostly summaries of each and every episode with my opinion of that episode included in it as well. I may not provide the most in depth summaries but I am very proud of the fact that I could keep the writing on such a long winded basis each and every night for the entirety of the series. I don't do this for each and every series though because it kills a lot of brain cells, mine as well as fellow netizens who often joined in the discussion by posting informative stuff. These thoughts are still open for feedback and discussion. Do check them all out in REVIEWS where it is indicated with an  [E] next to my name.

OFFBEAT STUFF

There is this one section in here that features offbeat stuff that are not entertainment based. The section is known as FUNN STUFF [COMMENTS & OPINIONS].

PERSONAL FAVOURITES

There are 3 sections in here that contain my personal favourites of all kinds. THE DDGs [COMMENTS & OPINIONS] which features specially made websites by myself with info & all related stuff of my favourite stars or stars I like to talk about, MEDIA & MUSIC FILES [DOWNLOADS] which has my favourite VODs and music files, most of them are taken from Chinese & Korean dramas & movies and some of which I am hosting for my net friends and THE STORYTELLERS [WEBSITES], where you'll find stories written by amateur writers like you and I.

Do check them all out!

TVB titles
Permanent link Post a Comment

Sometimes a good title is very hard to come by.

Yummy Yummy is now Food For Life, amongst other more better pre production title now no longer that same title.

I mean Palatial Sin is so much mroe intriguing than War & Beauty.

Yummy Yummy is such a catchy title, sometimes I would post Yummy Yummy News and that just sound so good and now Food For Life which sounds like Food Of Love which sound blahhhhh.

It is confirmed, my idol has very very very very very very very little scene as the HK counterparts themselves confessed, they all have very little scenes with everybody else except for Ben Yeo. I am sure this is a great great guy, I like his pictures, he looks humble, in fact his body language when sitting next to the HK actors seem to suggest a very humble guy because well...I see it as lack of confidence in the face of media exposure of the gigantic kind. The HK and Singapore media have been ignoring everybody else and put this poor guy on the pedestal. If his acting is good, he will gain many fans and I suspect many offers and attention. If his acting sucks, everybody from everywhere else will definitely say "Is this it? Is this what SEA has to offer?"

I am complaining because I am not happy with so much attention given to poor Ben. His friendship with Kevin is legendary and reportedly Kevin gave him some acting tips...I love Kevin Cheng but he ain't Raymond Lam or even Roger Kwok and this kinda well confirms my fear that unless Ben has natural acting talents, he really has lots of pressure on his shoulders. And they all say he looks like Andy Hui. Oh myyyyy...I beg to differ. But Ben is cute, BUT well there is always a BUT.

I am very saddened by this over promotion of one guy over everybody else. I read the synopsis and well ... I can switch off the TV sooner than I wanted to.

More info can be obtained from Shaunsation by the way (the link is in Websites > The DDGs > Shaun Chen)

Expect Food For Life somewhere in May 2005 and in Singapore Channel U June 2005 which means lucky Johor friends .... you get to watch it for free (again)! Not fair! I missed Power of Love, I missed Yi Xin Ren, I missed all those new MediaCorp series and now this! I am seriously considering moving to Johor but you know how much their wanton mee cost? Yeah! THAT EXPENSIVE! But no traffic jam!

Hopefully ... will have some good news on you know who.

Oh yeah I heard Ralph Fiennes will be Voldemort??? GREAT! BUT a bit too young. I was hoping it would be Jeremy Irons.

Yeah, Yummy Yummy is a more catchy title than Food for Life. As for Ben Yeo getting all the limelight, I guess that started mainly from the Hong Kong press. Now that they are filming in Singapore, our local press should be giving more exposure to the other local actors. The latest issue of U weekly has Ericia and Ezann Lee on the cover. So there's still a chance that Shaun will appear someday. If only Channel U is still under SPH Mediaworks. I bet there'll be more TV promotions of of the cast and crew.

Some news of Power of Love from an Esther Kwan forum.

A fan met a representative from CEIHK who revealed that they are doing post production work on Power of Love, editing it from 40 episodes to 30. It will be broadcast in China and the VCDs will definitely come out. The bad news is that the editing may leave most scenes involving Channel U actors on the cutting room floor.

Why? Why must they cut it? I hope they cut the China actor's scene but then ... why? Why? 40 episodes is normal in TVB world! Why?

Abt Yummy Yummy, at least the VCDs/DVDs will definitely be out, unlike Yi Xin Ren which I think may have already been "doomed to oblivion".

Yah, I prefer the Yummy Yummy title and I'm still gonna refer to it as that. Food for Life doesn't sound all that bad. The new Chinese title, however, sends me the shivers... It literally translates into something like this: 'The Ultimate Gourmet Food Competition' ('Zhong Ji Mei Shi Da Tiao Zhan', always have problems trying to translate 'mei shi'). Urgh...

I live in Singapore but I think I'm still gonna rent the series before it airs on Ch U. Never like watching the dubbed versions. Much of the essence is lost in translated dialogues.
