SELECTED POSTS
This page, NEWS & UPDATES which is
actually the index page of this website has
grown into a huge database of my almost
daily ramblings of all stuff I hold dear to
my heart, including gossips of the most
sordid kind. For your convenience, I have
posted a list of posts which I thought is
pretty informative in my own way that you
might find interesting. The list itself may
be long but those selected few are the ones
I thought drives home the point I wanted to
make. Do check them out in
MY POINT IS [Comments & Opinions].
SERIES' SUMMARIES
Sometime in 2004 I began
reviewing selected
series in an episode by
episode way, where I
called these reviews
EPISODIC THOUGHTS.
These thoughts are
mostly summaries of each
and every episode with
my opinion of that
episode included in it
as well. I may not
provide the most in
depth summaries but I am
very proud of the fact
that I could keep the
writing on such a long
winded basis each and
every night for the
entirety of the series.
I don't do this for each
and every series though
because it kills a lot
of brain cells, mine as
well as fellow netizens
who often joined in the
discussion by posting
informative stuff. These
thoughts are still open
for feedback and
discussion. Do check
them all out in
REVIEWS where it is
indicated with an
[E]
next to my name.

Regrets, I have plenty! Permanent link ▫ ▫
Do you have any regrets? Like not studying hard enough to achieve your life long ambition? Not taking that job because it had lower pay when it was something you might love to do? Not daring to find a higher pay job because you feel comfortable in your present one? Not loving that one person more than you can ever love until it is far too late?
Oh I have regrets, plenty. And none more so at a time when I take up a Chinese gossip magazine, see the pictures of my favourite stars, see plenty of ! ! ! and yet not being able to read more than a few simple strokes. I feel like I am suffocating others with my demands for translation, as I sometimes feel suffocated when in my line of work I had to translate documents from Malay to English and back again. That I was being paid to do and I am complaining! Generosity of people can only be so much, and frankly people are often generous but I can only ask so much and I feel embarrassed to ask some more because it's not right.
I always thought knowing how to read Chinese isn't important, I can survive by just knowing how to read English. And I can speak Cantonese fluently. But then I was too young to be crazy about gossips and celebrity. My greatest regret; not knowing how to read Chinese.
What's yours? Maybe not as trivial as mine but frankly, it's a big deal when you have so many articles with your favourite guy in it and yet you can't read a single darn word!
Regrets, I have plenty, but none as suffocating and suffering as having the resources and never knowing how to use it!

well regrets... one of my regret will be not learning Chinese too. i have the chance to learn but i was too young and uninterested. now can only look at pictures and get people to read out the title for me. they only bother to read the title for me the content will be too much for them.
and also scared of trying new things and not enough determination. not putting more effort. but i feel glad as i have my family and a good group of colleagues cum good friends.
Well funn, it isn't too late though, I'm sure u can attend private chinese lessons to furnish your language...Thinking that u know how to speak a chinese dialect, cantonese...so learning to recognise and articulate chinese language should too tough on u ...

But there's this saying in Chinese, that your eyes are located on the front, so one should always look forward and not spend too much time on regrets. After all it's really spilt milk.
Take things one step at a time. If you have the passion, (or if they keep publishing you know who's news in a chinese magazine =D), pretty soon reading chinese will be a breeze for you.
Anyway linsiew and dear Wuchang, too late for me. No patience to learn. I am when I saw I know basic, I mean really really basic. And I can't keep up with simplified chinese and all. Too late. Which reminds me, if ever have any children, pack them off to chinese school. Chinese is one language you can easily master to speak but to write, you need proper school for that!
I am envious of you all who can read Chinese and write too. Very envious!!
