SELECTED POSTS
This page, NEWS & UPDATES which is
actually the index page of this website has
grown into a huge database of my almost

SERIES' SUMMARIES
Sometime in 2004 I began
reviewing selected
series in an episode by
episode way, where I
called these reviews
EPISODIC THOUGHTS.
These thoughts are
mostly summaries of each
and every episode with
my opinion of that
episode included in it
as well. I may not
provide the most in
depth summaries but I am
very proud of the fact
that I could keep the
writing on such a long
winded basis each and
every night for the
entirety of the series.

because it kills a lot
of brain cells, mine as
well as fellow netizens
who often joined in the
discussion by posting

for feedback and

AI 4 : Was it that shocking?

I read in local newspaper NST today bemoaning the fact that Nadia Turner was voted out and that Scott is still in and hat the writer picked Anwar as one of the final 3, apart from Bo and Carrie, Nadia was his previous choice.
Sorry to say I totally disagree. I was shocked Bo was in bottom 2 but I wasn't shocked Nadia was voted out because she has loads of personality, a good singer but nothing else. She looks very scary. Someone said she looks like Tina Turner, but not the attitude and not the uniqueness. I wasn't surprised at all.
I like Scott. He may not look like an Idol (the writer chose Anwar who of course looks very nice but is that an indication he thinks ugly people can't be idol worthy?) but he has perhaps the most original and most pure voice. I love the way he sings though I dislike his looks and I thought he sang very very well that night Nadia was booted out.
One person that I am absolutely crazy about is Constantine who oozes with not just confidence and charm but he is sexy as well. Not the best singer but this man is definitely a winner in every sense. He may or may not win but I expect he will get quite a lot of offers soon.
Carrie is a good singer with a great voice but she looks so jittery each time I just didn't enjoy her performance. She lacks that people's face.
Anwar sorry to say is becoming boring and predictable. I suspect either him or Anthony will be out next. Anthony should be out.
As for Vonzell, she is so cute and she gets better and better. But she will be out soon.
My prediction is next out is either Anthony, Anwar or sadly, Scott but I believe Scott can hang in there for 2 more shows.

If u follow the AI4 forum, u will notice that to a lot of people, Bo has been steadily going downhill and many people feel that he did a bad job with FreeBird (although he is still my favourite contestant).
I'm actually more surprise that anyone would think Nadia would not be in the bottom 3. It's obvious that the judges want her out especially Simon. Throughout AI history, everytime Simon says it's the person time to go,that person will go. Many other contestants sing worst than her, but the judges still praise them and critised Nadia badly for her song choice (since it's really hard to find fault in her singing). Anyone who thinks the show is all fair and democratic and the judges and producers doesn't try to manipulate the votes is truly naive.
Btw, I think Nadia look more like Anita Mui than Tina Turner.
I agree that Scott has a great voice. One of the best voices in the competition. I also don't have problem with his looks. But his stage performance is still very awkward. What makes me really dislike him is his attitude. He takes critism very badly. Looks real piss off when a judge say his performance's not good. Btw, don't u think he looks very angry when he sing 'Take A Look At Me Now'?
As for Carrie. She also has a very clear beautiful voice. But that's all she has. She can't connect to the songs she sings at all. She has zero emotion when she sings. I personally thinks she is very ordinary looking, but she obviously has great appeal because she has very fanatical fans.
I think Constatine should tone down his stares into the camera. It's makes his 'sexiness' looks very deliberate and unnatural. I actually like him more when he is not staring creepily into the camera. I still like him though because he is unpredictable and his performance is never boring. Plus he has a unique voice.
Anwar has to be the most predictable and unimaginative contestant ever. He sings every song the same way. Even before he open his mouth, I already know that he will start off soft then slowly build to a glory note end while adding a lot of runs and melisma on the way. He is the male version of Latoya. Great singer but very predictable and no variety. You heard one, you heard all.
Bo's performance is less varied than Constantine and I admit that his last few performances are not as good as his earlier ones. But he is still a very good singer and I really like his personality. I like his laid-back style. Look more genuine and natural, plus he is really cute when he smiles. Hope he will be back in form this week.
