SELECTED POSTS

This page, NEWS & UPDATES which is actually the index page of this website has grown into a huge database of my almost daily ramblings of all stuff I hold dear to my heart, including gossips of the most sordid kind. For your convenience, I have posted a list of posts which I thought is pretty informative in my own way that you might find interesting. The list itself may be long but those selected few are the ones I thought drives home the point I wanted to make. Do check them out in MY POINT IS [Comments & Opinions].

SERIES' SUMMARIES

Sometime in 2004 I began reviewing selected series in an episode by episode way, where I called these reviews EPISODIC THOUGHTS. These thoughts are mostly summaries of each and every episode with my opinion of that episode included in it as well. I may not provide the most in depth summaries but I am very proud of the fact that I could keep the writing on such a long winded basis each and every night for the entirety of the series. I don't do this for each and every series though because it kills a lot of brain cells, mine as well as fellow netizens who often joined in the discussion by posting informative stuff. These thoughts are still open for feedback and discussion. Do check them all out in REVIEWS where it is indicated with an  [E] next to my name.

OFFBEAT STUFF

There is this one section in here that features offbeat stuff that are not entertainment based. The section is known as FUNN STUFF [COMMENTS & OPINIONS].

PERSONAL FAVOURITES

There are 3 sections in here that contain my personal favourites of all kinds. THE DDGs [COMMENTS & OPINIONS] which features specially made websites by myself with info & all related stuff of my favourite stars or stars I like to talk about, MEDIA & MUSIC FILES [DOWNLOADS] which has my favourite VODs and music files, most of them are taken from Chinese & Korean dramas & movies and some of which I am hosting for my net friends and THE STORYTELLERS [WEBSITES], where you'll find stories written by amateur writers like you and I.

Do check them all out!

Torino Winter Olympics 2006
Permanent link Post a Comment

I am wondering is anyone watching this on ASTRO or anywhere? I was hoping to catch the opening ceremony but didn't even know it already started until I tuned in a day later. Then I wanted to watch Figure Skating but kept getting Luge, Speed Skating, something like lawn bowl and board skating.

Thus far Luge is very interesting. So dangerous. I wonder if Michael Schumacher might consider this as an alternate career move? Maybe Alex Yoong also?

But tonight men's Speed Skating had me in a trance. Amazing stuff, fell down also got, sore loser looks also got but most amazing is the Japanese and the Koreans are quite good atheletes. Chinese also not bad. Thus far I am paying more attention to the sportswear of course and whilst I am undecided on the best looking one (for speed skating had to be the Italians), my vote for the worst had to be the Canadians in the Speed Skating category. Looked like the costume got drenched or something, really awful looking. The Americans' one looked very subdued, almost so unAmerican, so un-show off-ish. China looks like they need a fashion consultant whilst the Japanese looks like they're in some BDSM show. But still good design compared to the Canadians. Check out some of the designs here.

What I am quite surprised is to watch Snow Boarding and I was reminded of Hip Hop youngsters, they even dressed like one. Interesting. Has Winter Olympics spiced things up since I last watched? I do think Malaysia do have a chance in this one if we ever do intend to participate in Winter Olympics. Just trade skateboard for snowboard.

When is the figure skating??

Check out the official website.

NOW I really am so eager for World Cup! When! The fever, the excitement! GO ENGLAND!! (purely for sentimental reason).

Hi Funn, I watched the opening ceremony. The Italians did it with style; I especially liked the segment where they did a tribute to Botticelli's "Birth of Venus." Also in the center of the stage, they had a performance similiar to synchronized swimming, but instead of water and the pool, they used long swaths of fabric. In many ways, it was well put together and reminded me more of a theater or Cirque du Soleil show, as it was done quite artisticly and in good taste. Italian Designer Moschino also designed a special dress for the female ushers, a white flaring dress (reminiscent of a snowy mountain) with little fake Alpine trees on the hem. :)

I enjoyed the parade of athletes from all the participating countries, as depending on regional broadcasts, most often you do not get to see all the athletes again.

I like the women's figure skating segment the most too. Although I enjoy the summer Olympics alot more than the winter segment.
