SELECTED POSTS

This page, NEWS & UPDATES which is actually the index page of this website has grown into a huge database of my almost daily ramblings of all stuff I hold dear to my heart, including gossips of the most sordid kind. For your convenience, I have posted a list of posts which I thought is pretty informative in my own way that you might find interesting. The list itself may be long but those selected few are the ones I thought drives home the point I wanted to make. Do check them out in MY POINT IS [Comments & Opinions].

SERIES' SUMMARIES

Sometime in 2004 I began reviewing selected series in an episode by episode way, where I called these reviews EPISODIC THOUGHTS. These thoughts are mostly summaries of each and every episode with my opinion of that episode included in it as well. I may not provide the most in depth summaries but I am very proud of the fact that I could keep the writing on such a long winded basis each and every night for the entirety of the series. I don't do this for each and every series though because it kills a lot of brain cells, mine as well as fellow netizens who often joined in the discussion by posting informative stuff. These thoughts are still open for feedback and discussion. Do check them all out in REVIEWS where it is indicated with an  [E] next to my name.

OFFBEAT STUFF

There is this one section in here that features offbeat stuff that are not entertainment based. The section is known as FUNN STUFF [COMMENTS & OPINIONS].

PERSONAL FAVOURITES

There are 3 sections in here that contain my personal favourites of all kinds. THE DDGs [COMMENTS & OPINIONS] which features specially made websites by myself with info & all related stuff of my favourite stars or stars I like to talk about, MEDIA & MUSIC FILES [DOWNLOADS] which has my favourite VODs and music files, most of them are taken from Chinese & Korean dramas & movies and some of which I am hosting for my net friends and THE STORYTELLERS [WEBSITES], where you'll find stories written by amateur writers like you and I.

Do check them all out!

Nose jobs at TVB
Permanent link Post a Comment

I never knew so many well known TVB actors have had nose jobs! I mean teeth done is a given thing. Either sharp teeths and yellow ones or impossibly white teeth that are capped (like Christian Bale who had to do it when he filmed American Psycho).Jayne recently wrote an article on the ones who may or may not have had their noses ermmm...done. I know for sure some did but to read Raymond Lam had his nose done was shocking. The pictures proven it, and Kenix Kwok, Anne Heung too! I never knew. All of the nose jobs are very subtle and enhance their looks unlike their western counterpart who kinda made it obvious. Most shocking was Joyce Tang! I watched Old Time Buddies, really old series but I never noticed any difference with her nose. Maybe it was just make up? I couldn't believe Joyce Tang had nose job. The picture posted by Jayne as proof was from "Heavenly Sword Dragon Sabre" (Lawrence Ng version) but I think Old Time Buddies is a much older series? She was a newcomer then and if someone can get that picture, like full face, maybe we will know for sure.

Now back to Raymond and his nose job. No wonder after some time I thought he looked a bit different. A nose job can change your face overall, and will change it for for the better if done well. Of course not as drastic as the Korean counterpart who practically changed their entire face. Nice job Raymond. Never knew China had such good rhinoplasty (that's a nose job term to us laymen) surgeons. I remember watching a documentary that they even have nose jobs during LUNCH TIME! BUT for Raymond it must be after the filming of Twin of Brothers because after having any plastic surgery, your face will swell up for a few days. I don't think the producer will allow that!

Now tell me, is there any actors in TVB who has never had an eyelid operation, a nose job operation & etc that everything we see is the real thing? I know for one Jang Dong Gun never had any, I hope. Fann Wong said she never had, I hope. I am getting disillusioned. Any NATURAL beauty left in our world? Next thing you know, Maggie Siu and Maggie Cheung had their noses done.

Oh by the way Dodo Cheng wasn't shocking at all. Knew she had surgery, so bloody obvious since she made herself looking like the wind tunnel effect. Maybe Jayne may do an article about skin tightening thing or stars with Botox in HK. That would be shocking.

Oh oh I can't resist this. You know who should have her nose done? Guess..guess, clue ... ever since she lost weight and is reportedly only 2 digits with her weight, her nose seems to cover most of her face but she still looks cute although having an elongated face is not good because she looks better when she had chubby face. Guess who!!

No, Charmaine doesn't need a nose job, she needs to gain weight and add more fat to her face.
Big full nose = good fortune. She shouldn't touch her nose.

I agree with Jayce. Kenix nose job is the worse. It makes her looks less appealing than before. She used to have this very feminine gentle look. But now she's all hard angles. He old nose is definitely better.

Kidd, big full nose for women is not good, as far as those fengshui thing goes. For men, like Jackie is good. Same as big mouth for women is no good.

Kenix's nose used to be rounded , small and button-ish right? I thought that should be the ideal chinese nose instead of the sharper one? She looks harsher because she is older, thinner and face pointer. Strange though, at one point she was horribly thin, now she actually gained a bit of weight.

I think nowadays, western features (high cheekbones, big eyes, tall straight nose) are more appreciated in asian community than the traditional definition of beauty, hence the popularity of double eye-lid and nose surgery.

I personally think phoenix eyes is the most beautiful kind of eye shape.

Actually, Charmaine's nose is what is what is traditionally called a "Pig's Gall nose (Chu Dan Bei)", which according to fortune-telling, is considered a sign of grace and success.

It is the best type of nose feature available for a woman according to those fortune-telling books. Its brings wealthy and prosperity to her husband and virtue to her kids.

So I agree with Kidd, she shouldn't touch her nose. Chramaine looks fine just the way she is. I don't thinks she had a nose job, she just lost her baby fat as well as normal fat.

I like phoenix eyes too! But the sword brow is too much! :o It looks so weird!

Are sword brows those very straight brows that we always see on guys in wuxia series?

Funn, hehe finding pics of the skin tightening etc is hard for certain artists, especially those in their mid 30's. We know intuitively that they had some skin tightening done, but hard to find before and after photos, as it's a continuous procedure that they get on a regular basis. And the really obvious actresses like Dodo Cheng, well there's really no point to post those photos right?

I think Charmaine looks fine with her nose...it's a little big, but I'll rather she go natural than to have the same pinched nose everyone else has.

Skin tightening?

By chance, you guys meant 'face lift', is it? Lol...

Anyway, face lift has become more and more unpopular these day, since botox was introduced.

I think some TVB stars admitted having Botox, though I did not remember who.

And thank you Jayne on the comment on Charmaine's nose. Not exactly the perfect nose but she doesn't need go under the knife!
